My son is 3 weeks yesterday.. today hes been smiling at us when we put toys in front of him and when daddy was talking to him.. he has just woke up and I started talking to him and he had the biggest smile on his face.. are these coincidences or is it possible for him to be smiling already? He is three weeks actual and was born at 34 & 6..

If he's awake and alert while doing it, it sounds like real smiles to me! My daughter only smiles when she's nodding off--her face will kinda start twitching into frowns and smiles and grimaces, and it's fun to catch the smiles :) She never smiles when she's alert and we're playing.

She is 9 weeks old, but 3 days corrected age now.

Yay that's great he was totally awake & alert :) he smiles when hes sleeping too but I can usually tell when its just "gas" as they say these definitely weren't gas smiles :D

I've heard that the gas smiles thing is rubbish anyway :) I'd say they were real, especially if he was doing them in response to something you were doing...

You must make him happy :)
