Is this a thing?

LO usually gets hungry every 3 hrs u could almost set ur watch by it.

yest i was out shopping all day and she slept the whole time (i did feed her at usual times though)

last night she woke to feed at 9 - usually 10-11pm
then awake at 230 and wouldnt settle. gave her another 30mls at 4am. still wouldnt settle, burped changed, everything. she feel asleep on DH. put her down and she slept 10 mins!

I ended up letting her sleep with me (surrounded myself by pillows so i couldnt move, from 5-7.

7am - screaming as starving! slept on and off from 830-945.
945 fed, tried to put hr down but 30 mins later, hungry!
same at 12pm and 2pm.
she is asleep on me now as wont sleep in moses basket!

is she needing more skin to skin, or overtired? i know this may all just be growth spurt symptoms?

anyone had this? ill cope better if i know its temporary!!

thanks!! xx

Hi shiney

My MW was out today and I was telling her Rory was sleeping 3-4 hrs then waking up for his feed, but last 2 nights he has only slept 2 hrs then he is starving taking all his 4 fl oz bottle in mins. MW said he is coming up to a growth spurt at 3 weeks and she recommended that I increase his feeds to 5 fl oz. Hope that helps!x

Elyssa has just turned 4 weeks and I'm sure she is eating more at the moment to!

agh, she just fed at 530, slept for maybe 45 mins and now doing the nnneeh hungry cry!!

oh dear... she napped 3 hrs this afternoon so thought it was over!

Thanks ladies :)

oh and she takes about 4oz each feed, sometimes the bottle is finished and we have to go make up another one!
Annoying that the measurements go from 90ml, 120ml to 180ml! she never will take as much as 180 just now (in the space of an hour anyway!) so lots is going to waste!

Had to use the white noise to get her to sleep again!

My LO has always been a frequent feeder, never gone longer than 2 hours except at night. I think growth spurts are very common under 6 months, i would just feed when hungry. Its only lately i can distinguish between tired cues and hungry cues xx

yeah im worried im interpreting everything as hunger, but pretty sure the nnneh cry means hungry!

She fed really infrequently yesterday but she has started to scream in the middle of feeding, I wonder if its reflux, going to put up another post about it.

Yes Neh is hungry, so they say. Due to the sucking motion of the tongue when they start to cry

We get a definate neh for food, then other cries for pain (normally wind) and another for tired.

My eldest had reflux and he did scream mid way through feeding, he did feed alot i think it was to ease the burning sensation in his throat which often happens with reflux :( if she carries on screaming maybe see your doc about it, as they can prescribe infant gaviscon if your LO is in distress xx

Thanks, I will see how we got on the rest of the weekend. at her last feed she didnt scream at all. However I did realise she hadnt pooped in 48hrs! So i gave her 1oz of water before that feed, halfway through gave her a warm (not hot!) bath and then finished the bottle. She pooped during this feed and seemed really relaxed afterwards.

I hope this was the problem, however im not counting my chickens yet! If it continues over the weekend Ill also try the c&g reflux milk - cant hurt surely?
