31 TTC >1 year, Clomid for 5 cycles, about to double dose. Frustrated and Bummed. :/

Hello, all, new member here. I have been reading other threads but haven't found anyone just quite with my sitch yet.

I am 31, my husband is almost 33 and we've been trying for a little over a year. His semen analysis was normal. My HSG showed no blockage. My cycles are pretty regular at 28 days and one fertility kit I did showed LH surge at day 18.

I have gone 5 cycles of 50mg Clomiphene without a "BFP" yet, so my OB/GYN doubled my dosage for this last cycle. (After which she suggests taking a break anyway.)

Is this normal? I've been scouring websites and threads and SO many women- who are on Clomid for documented fertility problems- conceived in the first month or three.
I know I could just wait it out and see, but I also don't want to get my hopes up if there's something wrong. No BFP after 1 cycle: not a big deal. 5 Cycles? Even my OB/GYN looked dour at my last appointment.


P.S. I was on depo-provera BC shots for 10 years and am finding conflicting reports about whether that can affect fertility. Does anyone here have input?

Hi I'm 31 and been trying for years, only recently got help as was burying head in the sand for a while!
Dh is fine, ive had laparoscopy/dye/hsg and all fine but have long cycles so rarely ovulating
It can take a few cycles, if you search on here for Clomid success stories some people do take 6 months, I'm hoping I'm one of them! I'm on my 6th and final round 100mg each time, first dose showed ovulation so been unmonitored since then and cycles have been regular
I had 3 months of 50mg before but that was from gp not specialist and still had 50 day cycles so wished hadn't taken that, thats why this time started at 100mg and got 6 months
If this doesnt work I'm not sure what our next step is, im CD27 today so have about 5 days til expected af as last 2 cycles have been 32 days

Not sure if ive helped with anything but helpful to hear other stories

I'm different because I didn't ovulate, had irregular cycles and cysts...BUT...
50mg did nothing, no ovulation that cycle.
Doubled to 100mg cycle 2 and bam!
Stick with it!
