Hello Mama's.
I'm currently 31+4 with my second daughter. My first was born 37wks due to eclamptic seizure. I was diagnosed yesterday with Pre Eclampsia again. My cons said this baby WILL be born early. (Wanted to do Csection on Monday gone). My BP is currently 157/86. If it reaches or exceeds 160/90 I'll be delivered. If the protein in my urine increases any more the same. I was diagnosed on the 23rd and delivered on the 25th last time.

Any info you can give me to help prepare myself and family? We also have a 20 month old.

:hugs: as I just went through this
I was delivered on Saturday went from possible pre-e to severe pre-e in a few hours. I was 35 weeks tho but he's still in the NICU until he can feed on his own which we have been working on. I have no real advice as am a FTM and it's just my hubby and I. The best thing I can tell you is to have support through all this huge hugs hope you have a safe delivery

Have they given you an idea of what baby currently weighs?

Have they given you steroids yet?

I have my little boy with me now. He was born in October at 31 plus 5 due to incompetent cervix . He was in nicu for exactly one month whilst he learned how to feed and maintain his temperature. He is now 8 weeks and is now acting like a newborn - keeping me awake most of the night! Up until now he's mainly been sleeping but is now more alert. He is doing very well . His 6 weeks check was all good and no one has any concerns.
He was 4lb when he was born. He could breathe when he was delivered but had cpap for a couple of days to help him with this. He had a brain scan which I think is standard for all babies born before 32 weeks his was fine. He also had an eye test which is standard in babies born before 32 weeks and it was fine too. We fed him through a nasogastric tube ( I think that's the right word!) using my expressed breast milk. He did breast feed on day 3 but would get tired very quickly. I would try
breastfeeding twice a day 6 hours apart. I expressed milk whilst in nicu and also at home. It would vary how long I would spend with him in nicu but towards the end it would be most of the day as he had to do 2 full breast feeds in order to be discharged. He still had his nasal tube when we took him home but we were able to quickly establish full breast feeding do didn't need it. He pulled it out after the 4th day at home and the nicu nurses didn't want to replace it.
He was long and skinny when he was born but is filling out nicely now - he's now 7lb. I think 4lb is 50th centile for 32 weeks so you'll be looking at around that weight.
I have two other boys, one is 5 and the other is 3 but we were lucky that my husband could take time off work to take over their care.
I can't think of anything else at the moment. Our little boy is doing excellently and so will your baby. Please don't worry. In fact, one of the nurses told me that babies at this gestation don't give them any cause yo worry at all. She said they re just a bit boring becuSe they just sleep! Please ask any questions if there's anything I've left out!
Just remembered - I had my steroids at 29 weeks.

Girls thanks so much!
I'm 32 weeks now, growth scan showed baby is weighting 4lb4oz (ish). I have another antenatal apt tomorrow and the plan for steroid injections is tomorrow. At the moment my bp in on the high side of normal and they're wanting to admit me to hosp on Fri at the very latest. I'm just taking it day by day and monitoring myself at home as well. Every day she spends inside is another milestone. :)

That's a really good weight. You are doing really well. My little fella is 9 weeks old now. He has me shattered! He wants to feed a lot more now. He's always hungry! Good luck xxx

I agree with pp that is a fab weight your baby will be fine I'm sure!!

My little man was born at 33+1 and weighed 3lb 11oz he was only in nicu 16days and only weighed 4lb when they sent him home. He's now a cheeky healthy 13month old! X
