Hey ladies.
My mum wants to pay for me to get a babybond 4d scan. I'm quite excited to book one but the only place local to me doesn't have an appointment until 9th August. Which isn't really a major problem, it's just that i don't want her spending all that money if bub is going to be too squished up or just not in the right position, which would mean going back for another scan , but by then i'd be too far gone?!
Anyway, my question really is, has anyone had a 4d scan this late and if so did it turn out ok?
Thanks in advance

Iv got a 4D scan booked when I'm 32 weeks cos bubs has a cleft lip so I have another scan to look at that so they obviously think they will be able to see her face clearly. Not sure if a gender scan?? U culd always ring them and ask but they might just say yes cos they obviously want u to have one!

Id say thats perfect timing. Iv not had a 3d or 4d (what even is 4d?) scan but had to have a growth scan at 31 weeks and we got some great face shots. However had another at 36 weeks and cud barely make out anything, not really even limbs. The sonographer told us that u get the best scan results at about 32 weeks, anything after that bubs is too big.

Phone and ask them. That's best bet, I had scan with baby bond at 28 weeks an had to go back at 30 for rescan as baby was in funny position. And we before I got on the bed the somographer said she was t hopeful because baby would be big. Anyway she was right. Baby was so squashed up we saw hardly anything. They did give us a £20 refund because it was so dissappointing. So worth phoning and asking them but you might be too late xxx

yeh, this is what i was thinking. Thanks for the input girls :flower:

I had a 4d scan last week with baby one at 26+2 weeks. The sonographer said it was perfect timing and that many ladies leave it for 32 weeks and end up dissapointed as they can't see much. I got some great shots, as she said, it really was perfect timing. Definately call and ask Hun, but it might be a bit of a waste of money. Isn't there another branch you can go to? If you go to their website you can put your postcode in and it gives you several different options of your nearest branches.

I"m not sure how different things are between our countries but I had a 3D/4D scan at 33 weeks with my son and I waited that long on purpose. Some of my friends had them earlier and the babies hadn't really started getting that fat on them so they looked like little skeletons, still adorable but no meat on them. I'm going to attach a picture of his 3D and also his newborn picture, its AMAZING!

I have had an ultrasound every week for about 2 months because I'm high risk, I also had a couple in the earlier months too and the ones where she is closer to her due date are the best! She looks like an actual baby and completely different than her earlier ones. I think my avatar one is probably about 32 weeks

Oh I forgot to say I only had that many because I'm high risk (on bp meds) and they said they "had" to do growth scans and check fluids, etc that often.

*edit* oh I did say I was high risk in my first post lol ooopps

I had a 4D scan at 32 weeks plus a few days. It turned out great to be honest. I got some really nice shots of babies face smiling and yawning and everything.

hi i had my 4d scan at 32 weeks 5 days and it was alot better than i expected, i had a 4d scan with my last at 28 weeks and compared to the 2 the later scan at 32 weeks is alot better and clearer, i would deffo have 4d's much later than they say if i ever was to have one again

i think its a good time =) i got mine done at 31 weeks and 6 days and they turned out amazing =)

I had a scan at 34 weeks and it was fantastic. I waited quite a long time because I was waiting for my family all to be together. Anyways - he was pretty squashed and the photos I got were pretty limited because he was so squashed - but I got some excellent ones of his face which is mostly what I wanted.

Go and do it at that time in your pregnancy, I'm sure your pictures will be fantastic.

It really depends on babies position really. At my last growth scan my OH asked about 3D scans because they have machines capable of them but no one has done one on us and she showed us how there was no "black" in front of his face and because of that she wouldn't be able to get a good shot. Basically if there isn't enough fluid around baby's face (the "black) the babys face will be squished. We were a little disappointed because our boys head is already so far down in my pelvis there is no way we can get one :(
