Had my 34 week check up today and had an ultrasound. All looks good he said, she weighs 5 lbs 4 oz (I know it's an estimate). Except her thigh bone is measuring 32 weeks? It's measured normal all the way up to this point and now suddenly it doesnt? He says he's not concerned about it, but I am!! How does that happen and what does it mean?! Her head and everything else all measures right on track.. I don't understand! Anyone have any ideas? =/

Well at 36 mine had a 38 week abdomen and head, but the legs measured 34 weeks. My doc wasn't concerned, no doubt due to genetics. Both DH and I are short, and until that point he measured normally. Also, you could have gotten an odd angle to measure it, meaning it wasn't an accurate length. Up to two weeks in either direction is normal I believe.

I just had the same thing. She was measuring fine all along and then her femurs slowed waaaaay down. At 36 weeks she was measuring 33 suddenly.
At her 39 week ultrasound she was <2% on her femur and now measuring 4 weeks behind.. which was done a week ago.

End result, I had my baby girl yesterday at 40+3. She was born 7 lbs, 7 oz and a perfect length of 20 inches. Her legs look perfectly normal, and the doctor was pleased. She is perfect, even at 4 weeks behind on them. So when they tell you not to worry, do not worry. :) I know easier said than done lol, I just went through it. But trust me!

Legs vary in size. We are measuring a few weeks over but we know we're having a tall baby just as our first x

My son's femur length was measuring 7w behind his head measurement by the end. He was born 2 days ago and he is a totally average length, head-sized baby. The difference in a week measurement is miniscule, they are growing in spurts, and babies all grow at different rates. Two weeks isn't much at all - here they wouldn't even take notice.

It doesn't matter too much Hun , my baby started measuring small all over and if I hadn't had the same problem before they wouldn't be concerned atall , sometimes babies are just smaller then average don't panic about it baby will grow to the size it is ment to be , my first was born really small now his one of the biggest kids in his nursery !! Xx
