Warning: Lonnnng

Heya ladies! Pretty much what the title says.. Either I overdid it last weekend working on the nursery, or our little man went through enough of a growth spurt to stretch my skin too quickly! Ever since I have had a horrible pain (which I initially thought was a pulled ab muscle) in a patch above my belly button and a bit to the left. It is a crippling pain at times, a severe burning and tearing sensation. It only bothers me if I pull or rub the skin or if my shirt pulls on the skin, and the only thing that feels good is to leave my bump bare, or to wrap myself in a wide ACE bandage to protect and mobilize the area, which does help. Coughing, using my abs to do most things such as bending over, twisting, etc also can hurt at times. It seems to feel better in the morning after sleeping, but as soon as I move incorrectly, cough, shirt rubs or pulls it, it's searing pain again!

I had my 36 week appointment yesterday, and the doctor believes it's my skin, and not muscles. She could not see any muscle separation. I can push on the area with no pain, but if anything tugs on the skin, it's like it's on fire. It's way beyond itching..

Knock on wood, no stretch marks yet. I have been slathering my belly every day with oils and rich lotions since I found out I was pregnant, so it's almost like I traumatized the skin somehow.

Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this while pregnant? Anyone else experiencing the same thing? I'm hoping if I just wrap it as soon as I get up in the morning maybe it will heal a bit. I can't imagine another 4 weeks getting bigger, and hope this can actually heal.

Thanks for reading and sorry for the book, I'm just really frustrated...

omg I sooooo could have wrote your original post..

I had to go down hospital Monday night as one side of my belly just left of my belly button felt like it was bruised to touch..

(I had cut the garden grass that day though so figured I had maybe overdone it a bit)

hospital couldn't tell Mee what pain was and just sent me home with codydromol...
