38 weeks pregnant-pinching pain

Good morning ladies! I was just wondering if anyone else has had this experience. For the past couple of weeks I feel a pinching/shooting pain in my vaginal area (sometimes more inside-cervix?). I have asked my doctor and nurses at the office, and they say its normal, that its probably my little girl's head hitting ligaments. All well and good, but I have not been checked since just before 36 weeks. Is it possible that I am starting to dilate?

I had an ultrasound on Monday, and they said she is measuring 7lbs 8 oz (WHAT!?!?!?! I don't think I look THAT big!), and my cervix is measuring 2cm. The measurement of 2cm makes me feel like I'm going to be pregnant FOREVER. Even though I'm not sure what it means. Can I be starting to dilate and my cervix still be 2cm long?

I have a NST tomorrow, and I will be putting my foot down and telling them I want to be checked.

I got really scared and thought it could of been a UTI but it wasnt and my doctor too has said that it is completely normal!
I still have not had a single internal check in the whole of my pregnancy and i am 38+4.
Lets hope its the start of something for us soon
do you get the pains more of an evening ? xx

You haven't had an internal check yet?? Not even a pap for a base line? Maybe each practice is different, but it felt like in the beginning of my pregnancy they couldn't get my pants off quick enough!

A UTI never crossed my mind, however, I had my first ever experience with one during my first trimester. None since though. They check my urine every appointment, and I'm going two times a week now (listed as high-risk for family history of pre-eclampsia and HELLP).

I haven't noticed a certain time of day that I get these pains, they seem to be all over the place. It was bad enough a couple of nights ago that it woke me up in the middle of the night. I am sooo ready to be done with this pregnant-crap!!!

Due Christmas day... when are you due?

Have you been checked to see if you are dilating yet?

In the UK, we don't get checked for that until you're past 40 weeks, unless you go into L&D for a check up I think? So it's not apart of our care to get checked unless we really have to be

Wow! I did not know that! Good luck!!! Doesn't look like you have much longer to go now either!
