38 weeks w/ period cramps and pink blood

Last night about 2am I woke up uncomfortable, felt like my period was on it's way - crampy around my abdomen and back. I still feel that way this morning. It's not unbearable, but definitely noticeable. I just went to bathroom and when I wiped there was pink blood. I went again and the toilet paper had no pink. Should I be concerned, I can feel baby move every now and again. I'm not sure what to do. Is this the beginning of labor or just my cervix dilating more? Should I call my doctor or should I see if the cramps get more painful. I am not sure what the right thing to do is. I don't have a hospital bag ready yet either. I guess this is a kick in the pants to do it. Any advice or experience?

Is it your first, it sounds like your body starting to get ready so I would def pack that bag if I were you. Cramps and a little pink blood is definate signs of impending labour but this could go on for days. If your worried give your midwife a call but sounds totally normal to me. Looks like this baby maybe just wants to come a little sooner than expected. xx If your having a c section you will need to call them if you start having contractions as I presume your having a section for a specific reason and they dont want you going into labour? sounds good though. xxx

I had pink discharge Sunday and Monday and was told it is the start of my show...but not to come in until I have consistent contractions that are getting closer together.
