Hello everyone. Completely new to the forum, bit lost and confused by it so thought I would start a new thread rather than plough through. I hope you don't mind.
I am 39 years old - was married at 25 and had my first baby, my daughter, at 26, (yep was pregnant when we married) second one wasn't so easy but tests went no further than my ex hubby - he was ten years older than me and sperm was a bit slow etc, but we got there) had my son three days before my 30th birthday. Remember being treated a bit like a bit of a 'mature' mum to be even at that age!
Left my ex in 2009 and met a wonderful man who I am now married to I knew as soon as I clapped eyes on him I wanted his babies! Nature is so cruel - I can't help it that I was getting on a bit when I met my Mr Right! With hindsight we should have got cracking on the babymaking - I got a bit tied up in wanting to be married first - we got married in May and then did get cracking - my only concern had been managing being pregnant at my age, managing with the lack of sleep after the baby arrived etc, never did it enter my head that actually getting pregnant might be a problem :-/
My husband is a toyboy by the way :-D lucky me! He is 37.
We have only been trying since May as I say - not long at all really. I am putting pressure on myself unneccesarily really. Now it's in my head though that I may not even be ovulating etc and getting my self wound up.
ANYWAY - have been to the doctor - saying with a view to my age can we just see where we are at without waiting a year etc so she going to do a blood test on day 25 for me - week tomorrow. She told me to try between day 8 and 18 but she said quality not quantity. andto try every other night. We are struggling with this. It's bad enough having to stick to baby making positions - any suggestions on these other than missionary gratefully received! but we are miserable not doing ti and it doesn't feel like ti makes sense. I also seem to remember reading online somewhere that you should do it every 12 hours when ovulating. (This sounds much more like it!)
Any advice gratefully received! Thank you
Oh - one more thing the abbreviations have baffled me! x
