Im really stuck on names!

With my daughter i really liked the names Violet and Alba and i still love both these names but feel since i didnt use them there kind
of leftovers.

Some names we both like are:
Nyla
Ella

Some names we like but are not in the running are:

Quinn
Eden

Im really stuck, can you think of any others similar to this? Btw my other children are Lucas & Evie. Both quite short names.

I really like the names you have picked! And I think most of them go really well with the names of your other kids. I like the names Nyla and Alba the least though... Quinn and Eden are my favourite.

How old are Lucas and Evie? Perhaps you and your OH can let them pick a name among the names you like? Do you have any middle names you intend to use? Perhaps pick a name that goes well with the middle name?

I'm not one for believing that sibling names have to 'go' with each other, but that being said the names you have picked out so far seem to be of a very different style to Lucas and Evie. They're very classic names, whereas Nyla, Alba and Quinn etc are much more modern. Are you wanting something completely different this time?

I quite like finding patterns in names, so with Lucas being 5 letters and Evie 4, I'd be tempted to find a 3 letter name! (or go back up to 5) Ada, Mia, Nya, Amy, May, Rae, Una, Zoe. Lots of 5 letter names, the first that comes to mind for me with Lucas and Evie is Alice.

Thanks for the responses.
They are only 2 & 3 and when i asked them what name they like theh both said Skye (which is a paw patrol dog that they like haha)

I agree i like to have a pattern also, its so funny you should say Una as we had spoke about that as the meaning is 'Agnes' which is OH mums name, i judt didnt know if it sounded like a 'real' name.

I think in general i do like modern names but i do want them to fit with the other kids names too, just hard!
i like Nya that you said i also like Mia but already know 2 so that one has to be out.
If it was a boy im fairly certain baby would be Jack, why are girls names so much harder!!

If it was a boy im fairly certain baby would be Jack

What about Jackie for a girl then? It goes well with the other two names in my opinion, plus Evie and Jackie have a similair ending, plus then you have children, whose names have 4, 5 and 6 letters, so they have a pattern :)

I love Violet (obviously :haha:) and Alba which was a contender for DD2's name. How about
Blythe
Clara
Audrey
Emilia
Ada
Piper
Nova
Cora

Violet goes really well with your other names, I love it 👍🏻

Out of your choices I really like Alba ❤️ I'm really not keen at all on Nyla I'm not sure if 'goes' with Lucas and Evie...?

Other names I like for suggestions:

Isla
Ivy (probably too similar to Evie)
Felicity
Dora (I totally love this but I'm sure many don't!)

As for Una - I went to uni with a girl with that name and she was lovely and I thought it was a nice different name xx

I think its so difficult because i dont really like or get excited by ANY girl names :(

Jackie reminds me of an older person, i think my mum has a friend Jackie so kind of reminds me of that age group.

I do like Ivy but think it is too similar, we also have a niece Ava we see weekly so Evie, Ivy and Ava would just be too much.

Isla is a nice name which iv liked throughout 2 pregnancies, do you think it is a bit too similar too Evie though?

Im really stuck and at this rate can just see me going through a name list and picking at random which we did with Evie (i regretted that for a good month until the name grew on me)

Also i do like the name Cora but i dont really like the way it is pronounced with a scottish accent, quite harsh. I love Nova but it reminds me of a 'chavvy' car haha.

Ella goes lovely I think

Other suggestions
Willow
Iris
Luna
Phoebe
Robyn
Lydia
Elodie
Annabel

I really like Una, think it's a lovely name.

What about Luna? A 4 letter name like Evie, starting with L like Lucas, and has Una in it!

Aw I love Isla, I don't think its too similar to Evie at all :)

Haha you're opposite to me I'm dying for the opportunity to choose a girly name! :dohh: I like soooo many

Isla is gorgeous and not too similar to Evie at all in fact I think it compliments Lucas and Evie well

Lucas, Evie and Isla

Gorgeous!

Isla does sound nice!

Lola
Eden
Lily
Poppy
Ruby
Alba
Daisy
Lottie
Lucy
Millie

This idea is actually prefect in every way.

BUT

I told OH and he told me it is the name of a woman wrestler he thinks is ugly and its all he can think of so didnt even put it in the maybe pile :(:(

As time is getting closer and closer i have started to accept that a magic name isnt going to pop out.

I am starting to think of name i can see myself not hating and Isla is looking like a good choice. I know a few from baby groups in the past but not children iv ever seen again so at least that wouldnt be an issue

Isla is a wonderful name! :) Maybe it'll all make sense when you finally see the baby?

I love Isla!! It's perfect.

And Eden is amazing too.

I know how you feel... girls names are so hard for me. We named DD2 after she was born. We had our top thre names and settled on Rosalie... and we are so happy because it's perfect for her.

I'm sure she will suit whatever name you choose.

I like Rosie too.

Eden is my fave.

Luna is a wrestler and I think luna...tic...and I love the moon...but i cant get to grips with Luna as a name!
