3rd unsuccessful clomid...what next??

Hi everyone,

I have pcos and have been ttc for 2 1/2 years. I have had a lap dye and ovarian drilling, been on metformin for 18month and after finishing my 3rd cycle of clomid (out of 6 cycles) I only produced one follicle on my first cycle of 50mg, on my 3rd cycle I had no follicles and my progesterone was ridiculously low. My consultant wants to see me in Friday and u have been told not to take my 4th cycle which is due this week. I wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience and can offer any kind of clue or advise on what might be happening next???

My next step after 3 failed clomid cycle was iui.it just depends if you're ready for that or not. Best of luck to you!

Depends where about you live and what the problem is. After 4 failed clomid cycles, however with ovulation, I had 2 options: going straight to IVF or trying another 4 months of clomid. I chose latter, as I don't feel ready for all the hassle yet. However, the waiting list for IVF here is only 6 weeks, so pretty,pretty awesome if it won't happen after further 4 cycles.

Thanks, I'm at Oldham ( ironically the first hospital to do IVF) thanks for advice. I am not ovulating on the clomid which is the main problem I'm just not producing eggs, or mature enough ones anyway. Will update Friday and let you know. Good luck to both of you xx

Hi I did 4 months of clomid and then got referred for IVF. We did have the choice of IUI however at the time funding was running low for IVF (Sheffield) so I was advised it would be best to do IVF whilst I had the chance. Best of luck to you x
