Hello, Iv heard people mention this and I have frantically been searching for a thread about it to get more information.
My little Girl isnt quite 4 months yet but she has gone from sleeping 12hours every night from waking up every couple of hours!
Could this be it?
If so how long does it last?
How can i help her?

Im completely clueless on this subject so any advice or information is much appreciated.

From what ppl have said, how long it lasts - and if it happens at all - varies from baby to baby. Think the reason it happens is something to do with there being a massive developmental growth spurt. I'm dreading it!

It could be a few things - a late 12 week growth spurt or an early 4 month regression. Teething, even! Mine had 2 teeth at your baby's age. Some hit a few weeks early or late. Pour the :coffee: and just remember it can take several weeks to ride-out. Good luck & hope it passes soon!

I have no clue either, went through this with my little man, at 12 weeks, who is now 17 weeks old. I thought it was a growth spurt but it lasted 3 weeks.. My friend is a HV and has said that maybe he is getting hungry for food.. Im not sure if this is the reason why he started waking up tho, but just to know you are not alone!!

Sorry Im not much help tho!

From what I understand, the sleep regression happens when LO learns a new skill. Each 'skill' usually disturbs between 1 and 3 nights sleep. At 4 months, they learn so many new skills that it can go on for a while. Then add teething + possible growth spurts = recipe for lots of sleepless nights!

Poor little things, their brains just go into overdrive so they can't sleep properly!

Thankyou for your replies, Just knowing im not alone is a big help,

3 weeks is not unusual at that age! We went through the same and it was not hunger (this is a common mistaken sign for people who wean earlier). 3-4 week regressions are very hard but very normal :)

LO started a week before 4 months and it lasted for a good few weeks, i havnt had very many fab nights sleeps like i used to as he's been teething since ect.
he'll usually wake at some point to come in my bed to pull my hair
