Random thread, thought id put all my questions into one!

Diarrhoea - Harriet has had a runny bum since wednesday. Wednesday and thursday it was quite acidy; her bum was red raw - resulting in me letting her roam about with no nappy on as she was screaming in pain (and she only wee'd on the carpet once!) I had a Dr appt on Friday and mentioned it, n she didnt seem concerned at all as Harriet is still eating and drinking as normal (she has lots of water during the day too and that hasnt changed so i know shes not dehydrated) Her bum has cleared up since thursday but her poo is still quite runny / watery. Has anyone else's bubs had this, and if so any advice please? She is totally normal in herself.

Sterilising - Harriet only has 1 bottle of formula milk now before bed which i make up and let cool down just before she has it so its totally fresh. Do i really still need to sterilise?? She picks up anything and everything and puts it in her mouth, she is constantly around different children. She has cows milk and water from normal washed up cups; i just feel its totally pointless in sterilising her bottle!

Bruises
- Harriet constantly has bruised knees. Or at least they look bruised, and its beginning to worry me. They sometimes look really purple and dark, and other times u can just see 1 or 2 bruises. She crawls over anything (including people) she see's no reason to go round or avoid anything in her way. I assume this is normal but i just want to see if anyone elses babies have this??

Quadro - did anyone else have this as a kid?! OH and I both had it, its like scaffolding type pipes with connectors that u can build anything out of! The ones we had were red with black connectors, and black platforms you could put in to make floors / walls.
Anyone know where u can get this?! The UK site on Google causes damage apparantly and wont open!

So, theres my sunday night essay!! answers to any of the 4 topics will be most appreciated!! x

Hi hun, I can answer 2 only :)

Diarrhoea: could be teething, u can offer her some plain yoghurt, carrots, apples & banana to help harden her poo & avoid fruits like pears, mangoes, peach & anything with cooked with cheese, cow milk & cream

Sterilising: At 6+ months you dont really need to sterilise her bottles. You can wash them with soapy water & some hot water. I still sterilise out of habit but when we went on vacation, I didnt have a steriliser & I didnt really bother about it.

As for bruises, Omar is very cautious & once he hits himself & gets bruised, he avoids to go near that place where he got his bruise from. He was very careful. Whe he started crawling he avoided going near or under furniture as he knew it hurts if he hit, the same while cruising. Now, he walks far away from the furniture & he falls on his bum to avoid getting hurt. But he's soo cautious since he was tiny, & he doesnt touch anything before we touch it at 1st to make sure it's safe. But I guess it's normal at this age to have many bruises (there was a thread ealier about LOs & their bruises)

HTH xx

Adam is forever getting bruises on his legs, He'll crawl over everything in site and the fact we have wooden floors doesn't help!!!x
