I'm sure some people would wish to have an over sleeper, but I just want to make sure this is somewhat normal.

He had been pretty fussy and demanding (for him, anyway) the last two or three days. Nursing every 1.5-2 hours and not sleeping well at night, which is not routine for him. So I assumed it was a growth spurt.

So I had a doctor's appointment this morning and we left the house a few minutes after 9. He fell asleep in the car and has been lost to the world since. I have woken him every 3 hours to eat. He will eat well and then pass out again after making a nice poo for us (lol). It is now 6:30pm and he is still sleeping!!! I'm about to wake him for the third time to change him and feed him.

Is this just him recovering after a long few days of cluster feeding and fussing? Or does this seem abnormal? He hasn't had a fever at all.

Normal. My son slept an awful lot too, I had to wake him for his feeds sometimes as well.

You can always call your midwife for piece of mind :)

Absolutely normal. Look up wonder weeks and growth spurts it helps a lot with understanding sudden changes in activity and behaviour.

My little girl did this a few days ago after a having a busy day with lots of faces the day before. Guess she just needed to recharge! :)

Very normal. My daughter slept all the time. Her record 'nap' was 7 hours!

My 4 week old is only awake about 3 hours each day (if that!) x

Sounds normal. My daughter was the same at that age :)

My ds basically slept all day for the first 4 weeks of his life, and was awake all night! Days and nights mixed up but gradually started to be awake more in the day time after he was 4 weeks old.
