Hi ladies...... Had my first and PLEASE GOD, my last hsg on Friday. It was the most painful thing I have ever felt. Wanted to scream out "stop" but knew I had to do it. Anyways, once it was done I was told to make an appointment for 4-6 weeks time to discuss the results?? This seems like a super long time when they obgyn and radiologist both viewed it while it was being done. I knew the rad. tech who was with me and though she is not supposed to tell me anything she kinda said between us that it looked like at least one tube spilled out but still, I don't know if thats accurate. I was in far too much pain to turn my head and watch it in the screen and now I really wish I had because I might have seen something to put me at ease.

Is he making me wait because there is likely a problem or maybe because there isn't and he wants to see if I will become pregnant after having it done?? At any rate, think I will call tomorrow and move up the appointment regardless of the 4-6 weeks that he said. I just can't wait that long to know results they could have told me there.

Mine hurt too. I actually begged them to stop and had to have a break in between. Cried all my make-up off.

I also had to wait 4-6 weeks before I got my results. I also know other ladies who have had it done it different areas have had to wait that long too. I think it's routine.

Fingers crossed everything turns out to be okay and if not, fixable.

That doesn't sound right. I have had 3 of them done and the doctors would turn the screen so i could see the dye as it went in and then would explain what was going on as he watched. The results were given while you were having the test done.

One of the tests was somewhat uncomfortable, but i couldn't even feel the other 2. I asked the radiology tech about that and she said that 'the amount of pain you feel corralates with the skill of your doctor. The better doctors can do them so you don't feel any pain.'

I think I would question the doctor....that just doesn't sound like how they normally go.

How did yours turn out Princess??

Although there were complications during the process (which is why I was in so much pain), the results came back as "perfectly normal".

I have spoken to many women who had the procedure done by the same doctor I did and none of them had any pain, same with women who had it done by a different doctor.

The pain levels don't just depend on the skill of the doctor, they depend on the patient also.

I don't think it's fair to say that only those with inept doctors receive pain. It can make a lot pf people question their doctors capabilities unnecessarily and cause undue stress, anxiety, etc.

I wasn't just questioning the pain, but the 4 week wait for results when the test is something were they obviously know the results immediately.

Yeah, to be honest I think the pain was all me. I had very intense sharp pain when he inflated the balloon... I don't know if it's something he did?? Maybe too quick? Or maybe I was just going to have pain regardless. As for the dye, it hurt and I don't see really how he could do that differently so alleviate pain?? I am concerned that I had so much pain as I have heard that it can be due to blockages but I have also read women having pain and no blockage.
Popchick- the doctor tried to avert my attention to the monitor but I was in so much discomfort that unfortunately I was not able to watch. Reallllyyy wish I had though!

Popchick, I agree... Seems strange that it takes so long for the results when he know it's already a very stressful time.
