This has been On my mind for a while now, but I am a worrier and have health anxiety so I find it hard to know what I'm overreacting about and what I should act on!

My 4.5 yr old son gets very sweaty in bed. Not to the point of having to change pjs in the night, but always to the damp wet hair stage literally every night. In the summer it seemed understandable and I would take his t shirt pj top off. But it's winter now and every night is the same. His room is quite hot but his brother bunks in there with him, and he is never sweaty at all. Every morning he comes into our room and his hair will be slightly damp.

He's otherwise completely fine, active and healthy. I'm hoping it's just one of those things but as it has been so constant for so long I wonder if I should ask his GP about it

Both of my children have had sweaty heads at night, my son is only 3.5 but he still gets it. Has since he was a baby though, as does my 18 month old. Is this a sudden development?

No it's always in the hot weather I can't remember it being in the winter before though. I'd say it's head and torso not just head x

Both my boys do/ did this. They had a 4 tog duvet all through the year and would still get very sweaty. My oldest has grown out of it now and recently asked for a bigger duvet, he doesn't sweat now. I don't know why they did it. If you're worried I would ask the doctor though

Yeah my son sweats a lot on his head, even in winter and his pillow always has sweat stain on it. His been like that since he was a baby and I think my 7 month old is the same too

My 5 year old is the same!! But even as a few week old baby, he'd wake up in a puddle of sweat. He's sweaty when everyone else feels just fine! If he's always been on the hot side, I wouldn't worry.

Yep, my 4 year old sweats at night too, even in winter. He seems to run hot, I'm not worried about it.

Both of my children are sweaty messes when asleep

My girl's a bit of a night sweater and OH is the same - it's really gross and annoying tbh, especially when I go to bed after him and have to climb into a bed that is damp on one side! But he's a perfectly fit and healthy 30-year-old - in fact, probably healthier than most, due to his job - so I don't think it's anything to worry about.

My 3.5yo son always sweats when he sleeps. He's not a sweaty boy any other time but for some reason when he sleeps he becomes a furnace..

Very sweaty boys in our house too! I also suffer with health anxiety and took my eldest to the doctor about it who said it's completely normal and as long as nothing else is weird then not to worry x

My 5 year old is an excessive sweater. We make sure his pj's are 100% cotton. Definitely no fleece. We Co sleep so I try to have the lightest duvet I can and I remove his pillow once he's asleep. He's still soaked by the morning. Head, chest, legs etc. I have to change the sheets every day. I talked to his paediatrician about it she said it's an issue with his autonomic nervous system but it's not really anything to worry about. I just try to keep him as hydrated as possible.
