40 and sudden irregular cycles

Hi Ladies, wondering if anyone is in the same boat.

So I had my DD at 37, had no problems concieving, problem free pregnancy and she arrived safe sound and larger than life. We have decided to try for #2 and have been trying about 6 months.

I turned 40 in December, but in November my cycles suddenly became 10 days longer, I thought that perhaps it was just a one off but every cycle had been the same since, now I'm worrying that I may be pre-menopausal. I used to suffer with irregular cycles as a teenager and didn't start my period until I was 16, so I'm not sure if this is just me or something I should be worried about.... Anyone been through anything similar?? Thanks xx

Thanks, I went to see my doctor today and he had referred me to a gynaecologist... I'd still like to hear from anyone in the same boat though.

It could be PCOS.

I'm still waiting for appt with specialist...never any hurry in this country which is really annoying, time is of the essence. Not sure about PCOS I've no other symptoms except the sudden lengthening of my cycle. :-S
