40 weeks pregnant bleeding?

My due date is Sunday. This morning when I was making breakfast I felt a trickle of fluid running down my legs. I went to the barhroom and when I wiped there was blood. I went into l & d and they swabbed me and told me they were 'not convinced' that my water was leaking and told me to go home. They told me if more comes out to come back in. It's been a few hours but ever since my back has been hurting - like a constant dull ache. Everytime I go to the bathroom there's blood. At one point it was bright red, not a lot but it had a small clot in it. I was checked yesterday and am 1-2 cm dilated. Should I go back to l & d? They told me on the phone they weren't sure what I should do and to come in when I start feeling contractions. Please help

I would go to labor and delivery. Any bleeding i was told to go in.

Bleeding in late pregnancy can be associated with serious conditions like placenta abrupt ion Etc.. I was told to go in ASAP at the sign of any bleeding. Did they assess the bleeding when u went in?

They didnt seemed concerned about the blood because I told them the fluid was blood tinged but it was bright red after I left and a small clot.

Oh ok. Well as long as they examined u and baby is doing well then is say wait a little and see. If it gets heavier in the next few hours then I'd go in xx

could it have been your show hun? that happened to me at 37+5...bleeding along with a clot. L&D wasn't concerned at all unless i continued to bleed bright red consistently

I'm thinking that's what it was. Have you had your baby yet?

nope!! so don't get too excited lol. I thought i wouldn't make it a week when i had my show...now I'm a day overdue haha
