The funniest thing just happened! Hubby was looking at the free section on Craigslist, and saw an ad for a "Free Psycic Question" so he called to ask if we are going to conceive in 2010. Some silly little teenage girl answered and said that she didnt see a baby for 2010, but that if we get those, "You know, pregnancy treatments" that we will have a baby one day"! Lol! I don't believe a word of it, but I thought it was super cute that hubby called her on his own to see if we were gonna have a baby! Of all the questions in the world her could have asked, he wanted to know that one! :cloud9:

Good morning from Hawaii, girls!

yay for moving to third tri, bigbetty!!

On the excited-OH thing, my dH leaned over last night and rubbed my belly, then sniffed it and said "It smells like a baby!" :haha: He's far more the cautious, careful, doesn't-want-to-know-everything TTC OH. :)

On the symptom-spotting front, I am queasy again today and it took me forever to fall asleep last night because my back and boobs were sore! Also, my hands kept falling asleep so I kept waking up - I thought it was weird and then my mom told me she had that too when she was pregnant!! It's been happening the past few days, but I didn't think anything of it till now...

WOW! Its SO weird that you said that! I have been noticing that my right arm and left thigh seems to fall asleep more than normal, I wake up and some of me isn't really ready to wake right then! lol The only thing is, when my legs or arms fall asleep I can normally just hit them a couple of times and they would shortly be back to normal, but this time its not as easy to wake them up! I'm thinking I got a pinched nerve or something but not sure anymore. I will keep an eye on it just in case.. but good to know I'm not alone with the sleepy limbs.

I had HORRIBLE Restless Leg Syndrome my entire pregnancy with my son. But it effected my arms as well. DH would have to rub my arms and legs every night before bed. Not fun at all, but I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Yeah, it's really weird - I noticed it day before yesterday when I was on the computer. I always lie on the bed to go on the computer, but I'm noticing that suddenly my hands are falling asleep more while I'm online.
And I know that I wasn't holding my hands in weird positions or anything last night but they kept falling asleep - when I'd wake up, I'd be just lying on my back or side, my hands weren't in fists, I wasn't lying on top of them or anything.

Driving me nuts too >.< *looks at hands* stop sleeping!!! If I can't sleep, you can't sleep!!

It has happened all day... Not so excited about sleep now!

Nausea has been pretty much all day too  And dizzy-head feeling too.

We'll see, just a few more days till the :witch: is due...

FX for you! It sounds promising!!!

I have a question. In a thread in another area the question was asked, "What will you miss not having once you are PG?" and everyone is saying cheese, eggs, mayo, etc. Am I missing something? I ate all of those while PG. Are they harmful while PG??? Confused! Lol!

Well I'm no expert but I know there are certain kinds of cheeses you should avoid like the blue ones (b/c of the mold) & any cheese that's unpasteurized. A lot of soft cheeses are unpasteurized so you just want to be sure to check the label (the pasteurization process takes care of any bacteria that may be present in the milk). So of course that means you want to avoid unpasteurized dairy of any kind, not just cheese. No raw eggs, of course, but fully cooked eggs are fine as far as I know (the yolk needs to be solid). And as far as mayo goes, they're talking about the kind made with raw eggs (like the kind a chef would make fresh in a restaurant). The jarred mayos sold in supermarkets would be fine. From what I understand, the basic concept is you should try your best not to get food poisoning or internal parasites while you're pregnant. :haha:

Hi Ladies,

Just checking in on this beautiful Saturday morning.

I'm catching the tail end of the food conversation. I wanted to add a question about tea. I love love love tea. I heard women trying to conceive should lay off of tea especialy black and green teas. However herbal was included as well. Does anyone know why? I know there was a thread about all of this...but I never checked back in.

Also is it recommened to stop trying to lose weight while pregnant? Or can one still try while under a doctor's care?

Regarding losing weight while pregnant: I was told that I should continue to exercise (cardio only) but DO NOT restrict my calorie intake. That being said, I was told to make healthier choices on food and be sure that my calories come from nutrient-rich stuff (not junk). Easier said then done!:haha:

Thanks for sharing Mustang. Did your doctors give you a calorie range for daily intake? I think if one is eating healthy and exercising they may lose weight anyhow.
Yet, I am sure cravings and the desire to eat for two makes it challenging to stick easily to a healthy plan anyhow. :)

Regal: My primary care doctor is the only one I have seen so far and she is the one that made those suggestions. She said my MW would be able to give me more exact numbers etc but I don't she her until 11/10.

Regal, regarding teas, my guess is that herbs aren't necessarily considered "safe." I imagine green tea and black tea are blacklisted because of the caffeine, regardless of how little they really have. A better safe than sorry kind of deal? There may be another reason I'm not aware of.

Regarding weight loss, I'm continuing to eat at a small calorie deficit while I TTC. This is a personal choice I've made and I haven't consulted with a doctor about it. I've been logging calories and keeping a food journal for 13.5 months now so I pretty much know exactly how many calories my body needs to maintain or lose weight. I currently plan to continue eating at a very small calorie deficit (about a 250 cal deficit/day) during my first 2 trimesters unless my doctor advises otherwise. The actual calorie amounts needed to maintain weight vary person to person based on a multitude of factors so I wouldn't be comfortable spitting out a specific number. In my very non-medical opinion, I think it would be a bad idea to drastically reduce your calories while TTC or pregnant. Then again, I personally think it's a bad idea to drastically reduce your calories at any time because that slows down your metabolism, forces your body to metabolize muscle, and prevents you from getting adequate amounts of necessary nutrients.

My goal at the size I am now would be gain less than 10 pounds with pregnancy so that when I deliver I will actually weigh less than I do now. Again, I'll be consulting my doctor about it when/if the time comes and I'll be happy to share at that point. :flower:

I feel like I need to add a disclaimer that this is just all my opinion based on my on personal research and experience. :haha:
