46 in 2 days should i keep trying

Hi girls im 46 in two days and just dont know whether to keep trying as i have been through so many emmc including twin emc"s twice and well i feel ive had enough but when i sit and think about it i would like to keep trying but im not sure my new partner of 6 years has no kids and i would love to have more, i already have two grown up teenagers but like i said i would love another one or two , if anyone has fallen pregnant and went onto have a successful delivery of a healthy baby i would love to hear from you and even with some advice and tips.

I think a lot depends on how far you are willing to go for help.

I have heard of plenty of women having babies past 46 but if your having trouble carrying to term I would seek out the best FS you can find and go through the works. Even if the FS is not close to you.

I'm not really willing to go through all the extras and for sure not IVF so I will probably quit TTC around 46. Then if it happens it happens.

I am going to do some test and maybe consider IUI next year but that is really stretching it for me.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you have to see what's comfortable for you.

thank you for your reply honey, NO specialists around my county will help us and wouldnt even help when we were 40 and 42 all they did was all the tests and apparantly there is nothing wrong with either of us and we should be able to get pregnant but because of my age was told to go away and forget about it - YOU ARE TOO OLD !!!!!! and that was what 3 specialists said to us in the last 5 years and as for the early losses apparantly its down to not so good eggs and they said that when i eventually hit peri-menopause then i will have a lot of eggs leaving me at one time and to be careful coz i will be very fertile and fall pregnant very easy, so work that out i mean in one breathe im too old and it will never happen and in another breathe i will be very fertile towards the end of my child bearing years and to be careful , do they really know what the odds are in this day and age but still im not really trying now but if it does happen then great but if not then well i gave it a really good go with no available help... and im 46 tomorrow so wont be thinking about it

Hello and a belated happy birthday to you. 46 has never been too old to have a family, it was really common in my mum's generation I think we've just got so used to people thinking that you have your family young then get back to having fun in your 40's. I had my only Lo at 41 and am now 44. I tried for another but don't have a partner and am dependent on clinics and sperm donors, I'm now to old for that. If I had a man in my life I'd be giving it a good go while my body still had eggs to try with. Good luck to you and your partner, I wish you all the best for 2013.

aee hun thank you so much , we had actually given up in Nov last year but looks like things might be happening for us at the moment i am 3 days late and with no possible sign of af and no + test as yet we are waiting until im a week late and then we are going to get blood tests done , so i will let you know and thank you again
