Yesterday I had a dentist appointment and got a couple of fillings. My dentist warned me that one of my teeth needed a larger filling than it had originally seemed and so it might be a little sensitive at first. This morning I've woken up with a slightly swollen jaw and a mild pain around said tooth. I've used a cold compress on it but it's not making a difference. In the past I've used ibuprofen as well as the cold compress and it's taken away the swelling and pain. I'm 4dpo though and really don't want to mess with my chances of getting that BFP in a few days. Can I take ibuprofen?!

I think it's possibly just to do with the sensitive tooth although I suppose there may be an abscess (I dunno). If the pain/swelling hasn't gone down by tomorrow I'll get another appointment for next week and hopefully they can fix that. I'm away to Amsterdam next Friday so I want it fixed!

So yay or nay to ibuprofen? If not what do you recommend? (UK)

My doc said paracetamol rather than ibuprofen during ttc and pregnancy.

Don't use ibuprofen, it's bad for both TTCing and if you're pregnant so avoid it completely! Something about the antiinflammatory agents that are bad but can't remember the details. In any case, it delays ovulation, can increase likelihood of miscarriage, and prevents implantation!

Go with paracetamol/acetaminophen pain killers:thumbup:

Thanks ladies. Paracetamol it is! Off to the dentist at 4pm so hopefully it'll all be fixed by tonight.
