Ok I'm new here, so I'll tell a little bit. I had a miscarriage on thanksgiving night 2009 in Nov. The next month I developed anxiety....

Anyways, i'm on my 4th period after the miscarriage and its pretty heavy. I have cramps and clots :( is this normal? Honestly it reminds me of the miscarriage all over again. I called an on-call doc, but im waiting for him to give me a call.....

I was on Birth Control for a month, but stopped because I was trying to figure out my anxiety. My anxiety is still here, but I am thinking maybe I should go back on the BC? Because the month that I was on it [last month] it made my period a lot lighter, and I don't remember big clots.
 I'm really anxious right now so any insight would help. Thanks!!

Ok so I just talked to the doctor over the phone, and he says.....my period wouldnt be affected by the miscarriage this far out.

He says its from the pill? Um..odd. Ive never had this heavy of a period with huge clots like a miscarriage from stopping the pill. Im not really satisfied with this and I dont really think he cared to talk to me, since its his day off and all..

:S but I guess i'll start the BC up again.ugh..

Hi

some people actually develop heavier periods while on the pill; or after stopping it. My old doctor said it affects quite a lot of women in this way but it isn't in the leaflet because it would not be good advertising, I know when I was on the pill I experienced very heavy and out of sync periods (always a few days out from the 'period' days on the packet) and then just 'breakthrough' bleeding consistently for four months. There are also a couple of others things it could be. Some women do normally have clots and cramps, its just part of what constitutes a normal period for them, even if they didn't have it before it can start after pregnancy (even if not full term) or any other type of hormonal 'event' or upset. Some specialists do think that this can be sorted by taking certain b vitamins or herbal supplements. Also there is the possibility it could be a chemical pregnancy (aka a very early miscarriage), this can occur at the same time as your period was due.

I am just about to start my 5th period since mc I have being experiencing same thing heavy bleeding cramps and clots and they last longer. I spoke to my doctor said it was normal for first 6 months. He recommended going back on bc to lighten the bleed but I have decided to let them get back to normal first.
