Is anyone else doing 5:2?

:holly:

I had a slow start but I'm starting my week four fast today. So far I've lost 4.5lb on 5:2, but 22lb in total. 18lb away from goal weight and I hope to get there by my birthday in August. That gives me plenty of time, even if I only lose 1lb per week, and plateau a few times!

I've heard great things about it - my friend lost 7 stone of baby weight by doing it!

I follow it and have lost about 3.5 stone - I'm the lowest weight I've ever been. I'm not looking to lose much more now just maintain but it's a diet I get on very well with.

Wow that's great Coco! How long did it take to loose that? I made read up on it! I'm following Slimming world and have lost 1 st 9lb in 9 weeks.

I started it last July and by beginning of December I'd lost 3 stone but eased off a bit over Christmas (doesn't everyone!!) Don't get me wrong though during those months I was very focused and didn't touch anything bad either.

I started again at the end of January and I'd probably put on about 5lb over Christmas so thats come off along with another 7lb.

I've done slimming world and WW in the past and have got on well with both but after a few months I just get bored. With the 5:2 I like it because I only have to be strict for those two days and the rest of the time I'm just mindful of what I'm putting in my gob.

For me a big problem has always been portion control which I've really cut down on now because I find myself becoming a lot more fuller quicker. In the past I could easily serve myself a plate the same size as my husband and eat the majority of it! I look back and shudder at that now!

1st 9lb is a fantastic result in 9 weeks, you seem to be getting on very well with SW!

Yes I've tried WW in the past, and simple low cal diets. The weight loss with WW was good; averaging 2lb per week but with my three young kids I find it too time consuming to work out point values and plan meals. I much prefer being to eat normally five days a week and just restrict on two days. Plus if you work it out properly you can be really full for those two days

We just have a convent garden soup for those two days - they are really tasty and a whole pot is probably 400 cals most. The skinny ones they sell can be between 300-400 calories so even lower. They are quite filling too as a lot of them contain lentils.

I gained 2lb over the mother's day weekend; I was up to 167, but I've managed three fasts this week and I'm down to a new low of 160.5 :happydance: well earned weekend off, and I'm having pitta bread with taramasalata for dinner. I'm really looking forward to it

My husband is now also in on the 5:2 so it's nice to be able to do it with him too.

13 left to lose now I think...
