"5 year old girl gives birth" - Do you believe its possible?

I was just doing a bit of Googling for my friend, and typed in "5 year old" into google, and the first option that came up underneath was "5 year old gives birth". So I read the stories about this girl, in 1939, who got pregnant, and had a 6lb baby.
I dont want to post a link to the website because there is a photo of the girl when shes pregnant, and some people might not like it, but if you do want to read about this little girl, google "Lina Medina" and I read the first link (wilkipedia).

I was just wondering, because on another website, lots of people were saying it was impossible (she apparently started puberty early and started menstruating at 8 months old) and I guess I would like to think it IS impossible, because its just sad otherwise. Stranger things have happened. Im just wondering what you guys think about it really x

I have read about this before and if I remember rightly she had an extremely rare condtion that meant she started puberty (thus menstrating) at a very very young age. Not sure about the circumstances surrounding the conception (nor do I want to know) but I do find it difficult to believe due to the fact that a 5year olds body physically isn't mature enough to birth a baby

i read up about it about a year ago and im pretty sure it is true, i was hoping it wasnt true as well.

She went through puberty early so her body was able to grow a baby although she had a csection cos obviously her pelvis was too small.

I wouldnt have thought her body would carry a baby though? Her small bones,weaker muscles. Being pregnant gives ME backache, let alone a 5 year old. Its a wonder she could even walk!
(no I dont want to know how she got pregnant either Although it was mentioned on aonther website that it may have been a scientific experiment? I dont know, just some bored docter seeing if it would work? )

Her dad was arrested for rape and incest but was released cos of lack of evidence

when i was younger there was a girl who had twins at 8, she started her periods at 6.

its disgusting to think of someone so young having a baby but id believe it

I remember reading about that. She was raped by a family member but refused to say who. Her and her son only died a few years apart

When my Nana worked as a nurse many years back, she cared for a 9-year-old who had just given birth.

Her and her son only died a few years apart

I read that she was still alive, living in a tiny village with her husband.
Her son died in 1979 I think, and she had another baby 33 years after the first one, who is still alive.

I remember this mentioned on another forum I used to go on a yr or so ago. I didn't believe it either at first..
