My 5 year old son has always had this issue but it's really starting to worry me.

I thought that because he was little and he was heavy as a toddler that, that was the reason he'd sweat to the point of soaking his clothes, constantly, even during the winter. It just seemed like he was always hot... but he's 5 and his baby weight is long gone and it's still happening...

I've shaved his head, I'm very cautious about everything he wears, but even if he wears nothing but his underwear, if it's just even a little bit humid, he is dripping sweat. He's had terrible asthma in the past where we needed inhalers and it scared me to death when he'd go through this WITH the asthma, I was up for hours through the night trying to make sure he didn't need his inhaler.. but the asthma has gotten better where he hasn't had an episode in over a year now.. but I'm scared it'll come back.

I've brought this up to his pediatrician but he doesn't seem too concerned so should I really be worried? Is there something else I can do to help him? The nights are the worst times I feel like... I try to give him a bath to cool him down before bed to help but it only is temporary for a few hours and then he's right back to soaking in sweat.

I tried to google in, probably a bad idea, but I kept getting info about childhood diabetes and one thing that got my attention was also him using the bathroom.. ALOT, which he does, and drinking, ALOT which he does... I'm just scared and not sure what to do or who to call but I just don't feel like this is 'normal'

before i got to the end i was going to say diabetes, i knew someone with it and he said he sweated a lot a drink bottles after bottles of water. might be worth getting him tested they sometimes do it at chemists

Ok, so he's always been sweaty, so it's nothing new to him. So the sweatiness is not a worry. He's always been like it and has always been perfectly healthy. Some people are just sweatier than others. Has he drinking and toileting recently started or has he always been like this? If it was childhood diabetes I reckon he'd be like that for a couple of weeks tops before he was actually physically poorly. Especially at his age. He would be lethargic and very ill. I had a little girl in my class a few years ago who was ten years old. One day she didn't come into school because she was ill. A couple of days later her mum rang me to ask if I'd noticed anything unusual about her in class as she was unable to eat anything and could hardly get herself off of the sofa. This had happened over the course of about five days. She was admitted to hospital on day 6 and was found to be diabetic. If your LO is acting normally by his own standards then I really wouldn't worry about him. My nearly five year old is a big drinker and a big weer. He's not overly sweaty during the day unless we go somewhere like a playgym or the park and then he sweats loads. I've just been in to kiss him goodnight and he was soaking, almost as if he had just got out of the shower. He's been like that at night since he was two. It's not new for him and I'm not worried about it. I think your LO sounds just fine xx
