Hello Ladies

Well, I'm finally going to take the plunge into the Clomid club. I'm 10dpo and pretty damn certain that nothings happened yet again. Whilst I've still don't really get why they want to put me on Clomid when I successfully ovulate, I figure I'm not going to get anywhere until I do the obligatory 4 cycles.

So the question I wanted ask you was whether I should contact the unit and ask if I'm ok to reduce the dose they've given me at 100mg to 50mg or should I just do it? Seems sensible to me in case my body over reacts but I'm no expert.

I'll be especially interested to hear from any ladies under Ipswich FMU.

Please cast your votes!!

I have no experience with Clomid hon but I'd stick to what the doctors say hon, they may have other reasons to put you on it. Who knows it might just work!

I'd stick with what the doctor's say. Hang in there.

Hi! I'm under Ipswich FMU, on my 5th round of clomid and hcg jab. I was on 100mg and had 4 good size follies this month, if I'd had one more they wouldn't have given me the injection. I have been reduced down to 50mg if I have to go onto another cycle. I would take the 100mg and see how you react. This cycle I knew something more was happening than previous cycles as I felt discomfort literally a day after taking my first tablets. If you are in a lot of discomfort I would then contact the unit for advice. I've found that my body and reacted better each cycle.

Good luck and feel free to PM if you have any questions.

I am supposed to start Chlomid next cycle. I am ovulating too. Apparently there's nothing preventing us to get pregnant, but they also don't know why it's not happened in such a long time. I'm in London and they first did lap&dye to see everything is ok. My specialist said it can give us just that little nudge, but I was told I'll be starting with 50mg first. I am to see my GP tomorrow to prescribe it.

Wishing you the best of luck!!!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I called the nurse at the FMU today and she agreed that I could start on 50mg. She explained that the Clomid was to increase the quality and possibly quantity of eggs that are ripened and then the injection brings on the ovulation.

So just have to wait for AF to appear now, which feels like it should be any minute.

Thanks again and good luck to you all

Hi Hopeful4baby

Looks like we may be starting our first round of Clomid together. I will be taking the first dose on Thursday. It would be great to hear how you're getting on and compare notes!

Best of luck to you
xx
