my louis has 4oz every feed pretty much, sometimes only 3 but more frequently is 4oz. however today after his feed this morn, literally an hour later he was hungry again and took aother ounce. h then slept for about 5 hours. then woke up, had another 4oz and wouldnt settle, was crying and wouldnt burp properly. he started sucking everything in sight like he does when hungry so i reluctantly gave him more, as nothing else would settle him, he then had aother oz....shoudll i up his feed to 5oz???? he will be four weeks old on friday....is this too much for him?

You know your baby best hun if you think he needs 5oz give him 5, my LO has had 5oz from 3 weeks old and since then has been completely satisfied. :D

Mine was having 5oz at 3 1/2 weeks. Now a week later have just upped it to 6oz.

harrison has just started doing the same thing and he is the same age. if you look at the guidelines on the formula it does say between 4-8 weeks 5ozs, it is only a guide but it sounds about right to me for them to wanting a bit more now. plus harrison has had a huge growth spurt so i he must need the extra milk.

Megan takes 5oz every 3-4 hours, she doesn't take it all every time but i always make it just in case, if she wants it all she gets it. If they need more you should give them it, shes a happy baby who sleeps well.....most of the time!

My dd has been on 5oz bottles for a week, she has just turned 3 weeks yesterday. She doesnt always take 5, sometimes its 4 and a half, but its there if she wants it. I would up the bottles and see how your lo goes.

could it maybe be that he has wind, my wee one acts like he is hungry when he has wind and sucks furiously on anything he can get his mouth on (he is two weeks) my hv said that they want to eat more or comfort suck to make themselves feel better. she recommended infacol. Of course it could be he is just wanting more food!!
