5w 4d scan today - bit confused

I have sadly miscarried 3 times in the last year and a half. Last Sunday I got my . As I have tested positive to Lupus Anticoagulant which can cause mc Mr Rai, from St. Marys has prescribed my clexane and aspirin plus he asked for a scan at 6 weeks.

Well I went in today, early I know, but my GP wasn't great on her maths. I was actually shaking as I went in to the hospital I was so scared.

So the results are this: no gestation sac evident. Possible pseudo sac or clot. Lots of fluid behind uterus. They think it's possibly ectopic. But also said it could be too early to tell and may be ok. They took blood and I have to go in on Sunday to repeat them. I'm confused though. I haven't had any pain. How can it be ectopic if there's no pain? And if it isn't ectopic what else could it be? Apparently a psuedo sac looks different to a normal one... So scared and really quite confused. Has anyone had the same experience?

Although they found a Gestational sac it apparently was similar to what an ectopic would look like and unfortunately I have been getting pain but no bleeds.

For you 5+4 is still really early to accurately see anything. Hopefully for us our dates might just be a little out and we are slightly less than we thought.

Just had the bloods back and they're looking good. Progesterone is 59 and HCg is 1200. The progesterone is too high for an ectopic the Dr said so it was probably just too early to scan. Hopefully the hcg levels will double for Sunday's test. Little less anxious now, but won't be happy til we see that hb!

Ive just been misdiagnosed an ectopic by Professor Siobhan Quenby a professor in recurrent miscarriages.

I had a scan yesterday which showed a 2cm mass on my ovary and nothing in my womb. Surgery was booked for last night at 8pm to remove. HCG levels were 3362.

However HCG levels yesterday rose to 6672 so op was postponed, ive been rescanned and hey presto I have a sac and a yolk sac.

My fluid was clear however behind uterus and ive had no pain and bleeding.

I would ask for another scan and repeat HCG levels.

Oh gosh, Fluffy, what a traumatic rollercoaster for you. So glad its worked out for you! I'm booked in for another scan next Friday and more blood tests tomorrow. I have a good feeling about this one. I'm sure its just Drs being a little over cautious! Keep me updated on your progress hon. xxx

Thanks jessa. Hcg levels have doubled so things are looking good!! Arms are so bruised from Drs taking bloods.... Why can't they do it properly?! Nurses never bruise me!!!

Peach - I just think its natural for us that we are gonna worry, so pleased your levels have doubled. You must be same dates as me I reckon.

Lets hope our scans are more informative, mines Monday 7th !

25th so they have said but depends on scan cus he seems to think im less but I cant possibly be having been so rigorous with dates etc !

Think that it can be hard to tell with the really early scans, and the waiting for the next one can be really difficult, have always found the first couple of scans the hardest. Best wishes xx

Hi ladies! I am due the 28th of Jan! I got my first round of blood back today it was at 717 hcg on Friday. The nurse said it was a little low and just that little comment has had me freaking out all day long. GRRR I have to have more blood taken today so I am waiting until around the same time I went on friday! I have had a lack of symptoms today so I am very nervous and stressed out. Just trying to get through the day ya know???

Hi Peach,
I am the same situation. Just had first scan at 5+2 because of prior ectopics and tube removal. They didnt find anything tech kept telling me all was ok and it was too early I hope they are right. Have googled everything I can find at it looks like usually hcg needs to be around 2000 to see anything mine is 1380 at first had slow rising but now they are doubling so we shall see more bloods for me on Monday this will be my 5th set. Gonna need a blood transfusion before all is said and done. Good luck to you.

Oh Puppymom I hope your levels keep going up steadily. 5w 2d is very early to scan. Hope they're not mashing up your arms as badly as mine with all the blood tests... have bruises so big and blu I look like a right druggie!!

Still have a small amount of dark spotting this morning and a few twinges on the right hand side, but nothing painful or constant. Roll on 11.20 tomorrow when we'll get to see what's going on in there! Fingers crossed it's all good.

Good Luck Peach pretty sure I'm not having such a happy ending. I started bleeding heavily today dark red. Also having massive pains in my lower left side tylenol is not helping at all. My left side is my only tube left so still praying baby is not in there. Will get more bloods tomorrow to confirm numbers are going down. Hope you ladies get much better news.
