6 days old .. how much milk?

Hi ladies my DS charlie is taking 2oz average (3oz maximum) every 3 hours. He has jaundice so we are having to change him before feeds to wake him up because its making him over sleepy.

Does it sound like hes getting enough milk?

Sounds fine to me. Make sure he gets plenty of daylight - put his cot/moses/pram by the window and let him bask in daylight - the vit D helps the jaundice to dispel. With the eating, feed on demand/every 3 hours until he is recovered, then just give him however much he'll take while leaving a little bit in the bottom of the bottle. There are no 'rules' when it comes to amounts of formula. As long as he's feeding well and regularly at the moment, he'll be fine. But trust me....sunshine!

my doctor said to feed 2.5 ounces for every lbs that the baby is. You are feeding 16 oz per day so if your baby is about 6.5 lbs you are feeding right.

Thats how i work much lo needs too. My lo was born at 7lb9 and took 2/3oz every 3 hours! Sounds good to me!
