I had Sophia last Tuesday and since then I've been feeling a bit odd, not all the time though, sometimes I feel really well and full of energy.

I get this strange feeling like my body is trembling/vibrating/shaking? I get very light headed and dizzy and feel like I'm gonna faint.

I tried to pop down to my nans on Saturday to show her the baby but I felt absolutely awful, I felt like I might pass out.

I did loss alot of blood during the labour (800ml) plus when i left the hospital my iron was 8.5

Anyone else felt like this?

me my iron was low to and still is! i still sometimes feel like you describe! i started taking iron tablets and b12 vitamins! also made sure i was eating and drinking alot and it did help but i still feel like this some days! x

I used to get this all the time when I was feeding. It's your blood sugar levels dropping. You're probably very busy and not eating enough or often enough. I found that eating something really sugary really quickly (Turkish Delight) or something helped alleviate it when it kicked in.

It's a horrible sensation though, I used to find it hard to speak cos my lips went numb!

Really appreciate your replies ladies, I thought low iron and sugar might be the cause but wasn't sure, i do keep missing meals actually, must keep on top of that, its probably making me feel worse..

I felt exactly the same after giving birth, I can't remember how low my iron count was but I was given tablets for it and ended up needing a blood transfusion after six days because I got really ill with it, (luckily I was still in hospital at the time!)

Missing meals will make it worse. Were you not prescribed iron tablets?

yeah i'm taking 3 a day, i think my iron has built up again because i feel so much better already!
