I may be wrong but I don't remember my Boys doing this to the extent dd does. She cluster feeds every night from around 5-11pm and has done since birth pretty much. I thought it was a phase but it doesn't seem to be. She sleeps well at night so I can't really complain but that doesn't make it easy really. Any experience?

My lb calmed down with the cluster feeding around 7 weeks.

I want to watch this thread as mine cluster feeds in the morning, and then sometimes in the evening, she'll be 6 weeks Wednesday, I heard the first 6 weeks are the hardest, I know it's not going to magically get better overnight, just want to see/hear others' experience.

For me it was around 8 -10 weeks, but we had latch and weight issues so that will probably extend cluster feeding a bit.

Thanks I keep waiting for it to get better but it's got worse if anything, today all she has done is feed or cry for food. I've got my other two at home and there's only so long they're going to put up with it. I've given myself a goal for 12 weeks if its no better then I'm going to consider switching

She also spits out her dummy and i don't know if it's because she really is hungry (as this is like 30 min after she last fed) or whether she just doesn't like it. I'm stressing as my other two settled with their dummies and this is new

Sounds like the six week growth spurt to me. If
LO is good at feeding it should only be a couple of days before this starts to space out again although the evening cluster feeds might continue. When your milk supply regulates (softer breasts, less engorgement) then cluster feeding should stop too.

First 6-8 weeks are the hardest as you are getting used to BF as a whole, working on latch, feeding positions etc... Cluster feeding does slow down but then if they get a cold etc it picks back up. Use these first few weeks to get used to feeding, find out what works best for you and it should all calm down once it's all figured out.

I've been thinking about this and am going to try as much as I can. I've got a rotten cold so 1) I wonder if that's somehow affected my supply (I do drink/ eat enough) 2) bfing has almost certainly stopped her from getting it too...

My boys go through cluster feeding phases. between 6-8 weeks, Again around 12 weeks, and my one twin is cluster feeding at night while his brother is sleeping the whole night. Cluster feeding is to help increase your supply for a growth spurt.
