When I wiped I saw a slight brown tinge to my mucus so I pushed a bit more wee out then wiped and the tp was covered in brown that was more mucusy than blood though. I left work and went to the emergency room but there was a massive wait. I checked again and it was more like a huge wet spot in my undies with a brown bit in the middle. Nothing else was coming out anymore. So I called my gp and he said don't wait all night he will get me a scan tomorrow, there's nothing they can do anyway.

Is this normal?? Has anyone else had this?? I had an ultrasound 6 days ago could it possibly have been caused by that?

it could be just leftover blood hun but im sure when you get your scan it will put your mind at ease xx

I normally have something similar around my period date, had it be both my pregnancy... And all was fine....

Hi hun, sorry i dont have any experience in this, just wanted to say goodluck and that i hope all is alright. It sounds like you arent getting any cramps or pain which is a good thing. Just try and relax until your scan, you've seen a healthy HB so chances are its something minor x

I don't have periods naturally though, I'm anovulatory from pcos

If your dont have periods naturally, then it could be your body just removing any old blood because your lining doesnt refresh itself naturally like it would in a normal cycle?

This happened many times when I was pregnant with my son. Each time it freaked me out but everything turned out fine. I was always told that brown blood is usually nothing to worry about, nor is a small amount of pink, but larger quantities, esp if red, needs immediate attention. (I had all of those at various times and scans after the pink and red each time). It's tough, but sometimes bleeding means something and sometimes it doesn't. Best of luck :flower:

This just happened to me, perhaps a bit heavier than your spotting.

Woke up on Sunday morning to dark brown discharge, which was slightly heavier when I went back 5 mins later to check, and then went down to light brown/dark peach discharge throughout Sunday.

I had a scan yesterday (Monday) and baby's fine. Bleeding came from next to the sac, no known reason.

Generally, dark brown (=old) blood isn't as serious as red (=new/fresh) blood. But all bleeding should be investigated!

Please let us know how you get on!

I had a bleed at 5 weeks, plus 5 days and then a scan at 6 weeks and all was fine. We have another scan this afternoon, I am 10 wks 5 days now and all seems well.

I was also told that red blood is bad(especially with pain) but brown blood is old and nothing to worry about. Could just be from your implantation of baby in uterus.

Easier said than done but try not to worry, especially if you've not had any pain. You may experience the odd cramp as things grow and stretch but my nextdoor neightbour is a midwife, she was quite blunt and said if anything was wrong there would be lots of red blood and you'd be in lots of pain... so try and put it on a scale of 1-10 and it'll help you calm down - by the sounds of it, yours is nothing to worry about.

Wishing you the best of luck xxx

My carrier has an SCH. The doctor said it is possible for her to have a gush of fluid that is tinged red. He acted as if this wasn't going to be a problem but I know how doctors try not to worry their patients over something that may not happen. Good luck to you and I hope everything works out for you and your baby!

Ive just had this today too and have a scan arranged for tomorrow to check whats going on. I have read a lot of theories on this and most people who have this end up with healthy babies. When its brown blood, its old blood and there are various theories including that it can be old blood from implantation making its way out, slight hormone fluctuations or a slight bleed from the cervix if you have cervical erosion ( a very common and harmless condition - I have this). When I had my m/c the brown discharge got heavier and heavier and turned into bright red blood within days. I had brown discharge with my daughter too but it went away and never went red. Like you, Im still worried and hope my scan tomorrow can give me some answers. :hugs: xx

Have you dtd lately? I had this last week straight after DTD then a few days later with brown blood xx

I hope everything is okay. I bled for the first ten weeks with my son, and they never found out why. It was really stressful, so I get how you're feeling.

Did you :sex: recently? When I was pg with ds, I had a bleed around 7 weeks just like you described. It was from sex (your cervix can become engorged and sensitive, resulting in minor bleeds from sex). When my bleed happened it was christmas eve, so nothing was open for a week between Christmas and new years. My mw did nothing as it had stopped and I just waited until my scheduled scan at 11 weeks. Everything was fine. Fx'd for you!

Did any more come out? Did you call you doc/midwife? Hope everything is ok. By the way, we are due on the same day :) I had my scan today and they put me at 7+2. Good luck!! xxxx

ive had this 4 times, once it had red in it had that checked, it was fine..
they normally get pregnant people in straight away though, despite the wait?
sorry cant remember if your in the UK, but if you are then they should get you in within about 10 mins..
hope its okay for you now, mine was nothing to worry about x :flower:

Pleased to br reading this thread as this is exactly what I've had the past three days! I'm off to EPU in the morning, hoping I'm going to be sent for a scan.

When I had my miscarriage I was bright red blood so I'm trying to keep hopeful!

Goodluck and update this thread please xx

I had this 3 days ago at 7+3 and had a scan yesterday and we saw the HB for the firsttime :) best of luck :)
