Evan sttn from 10-15 weeks then it all stopped. Sadly for us it lasted till 25 weeks. He used to be up screaming, playing, screaming some more. Never really hungry just really unsettled. Apparently at this time the sleep patterns and cycles are all changing etc. We just had to ride it out but I sympathise!! He started sttn again properly at 6 months.

my LO slept through from 6 weeks, hit 14.5/15 weeks and turned into an absolute nightmare waking all the time. it lasted till exactly 21 weeks for us and i think its just the 4 month sleep regression. it wont have anything to do with the naps imo, as a rule the better they sleep in the day the better at night.

My LO started doing this a while ago and i think it lasted for a week or so maybe waking at 3-4am and squealing really loud chatting away wanteing to play for about 2 hours, we just had to ride it out seemed like hell at the time and like it would never end but obviously it did. Since this though he has been rather hit and miss with STTN but i think its teething problems now.

Welcome to the 4 month sleep regression

It's a total nightmare.. the best bit of info I read about it was in the Wonder Weeks. You can buy the book or I think there's an iPhone app now - I'd thoroughly recommend it. It explains everything in great detail. It's a big developmental leap at this age so your LO is waking up and wanting to practise the new skills he is learning, so you just need to ride it out and ignore anyone that tells you your LO is hungry and that you should wean (this is likely to happen a lot but honestly, introducing food will not help at all!). Good luck!

The 4 month sleep regression hit Holly too. She STTN from 8 weeks to about 4 months, and has never STTN since. This week she's getting a little better, but she keeps waking up at 5am to play. I think some babies get over it pretty quickly, but for some it can go on for months (Holly is 9 months). FX you're one of the lucky ones! x x

ps, I agree with Emma - weaning doesn't help in the slightest...

Lily went through this as well from about 5 months until about 2 weeks ago. It is just a case of riding it out - I thought about fiddling with her naps but I was reluctant to mess with them when she still needed the 3 during the day and I'm glad I left them alone now.

I never interacted with her that much at night. If she was crying, I'd pop her dummy back in etc, but I never turned on the light or talked to her or played with her. I used to just leave her in her cot while I dozed off for half an hour at a time and tried to resettle her again after.

Maria went through this too, 4 month sleep regression and all that jazz. Her sleep is only just starting to improve though she still plays in the night sometimes but then she goes back to sleep by herself after a while so its not a problem anymore.
I have to admit, sometimes I did get her out of the cot and played with her in the middle of the night - sometimes she's so cute you can't resist her :haha:
