Well, I jumped onto the 1st trimester pregnancy forum, but who knows what is going to happen. This is my 7th pregnancy, all have been lost anywhere from 4weeks 4 days to 13 weeks 3 days. Currently I am 5 weeks 5 days, and I almost thought I was going to escape the spotting this time around. My HCG numbers had been good (before the Easter weekend, don't have today's number's back yet); they were 332 at 4 weeks 3 days, and then 931 at 4 weeks 5 days. So they were more than doubling. But here I am now, woke up this morning to a little bit of pink and brown on the tp after I peed. Now I am scared to go to the bathroom. I haven't had any spotting since 9am, but now I am starting to get the feeling that the bleeding is right around the corner.

I'm so frusterated and scared right now. No one knows what the cause of all of the losses have been. I guess I should say now that I do have one child, my son, he was my third pregnancy. It was a very complicated pregnancy and he was born at 25weeks 0 days. He is fine now and just turned 6.

I had 2 pregnancies end before him; actually in the year before he was concieved. The first was a missed m/c at 12 weeks, and the second was a missed m/c at 8 weeks although the sac only measured 6 weeks 3 days on the u/s. Pregnancy number 4 ended at 10 or 11 weeks. There was a massive hemmorage and an u/s showed the uterus was empty and the 'contents' of the uterus were all sitting on top of the cervix but the cervix wasn't opening. They figure the baby was lost around 9 weeks due to the amount of product. Three months later I was pregnant again after doing one round of Clomid. There was some spotting but the heartbeat was seen at 6.5 weeks and heard by 10 weeks. At 13 weeks 2 days, right before my cerclage, and u/s showed the baby had died at 13 weeks. It was a genetically healthy boy. Pregnancy #6 was in July 2009. HCG levels never got over 16. Spotting throughout and naturally lost it at 4 weeks 4 days. And now here we are with pregnancy #7.

I have had a hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, HSG as well as complete hormonal and blood panels done to try and find the cause. Anatomically everything is perfect; 2 ovaries, 2 unblocked unscarred tubes, uterus clear, no scars adhesions or anything. I do ovulate on my own, but because I tend to be insulin resistant in the past few years, I started Metformin in Sept 2009, and that has really brought my ovulation back down to a normal CD14 ovulation. I have had 1 positive blood clotting test, but others came back normal, so blood clotting is not suspected to be the cause. I am only 29, average weight, and otherwise healthy. Hubby is 37 (father of all of them), and he does have a lower sperm count with a high level of abnormal sperm, but they said this wouldn't cause a problem.

I don't know what to think or do.... I am just so scared right now. I have to go pee and I am scared to because I feel like there is going to be more than just spotting this time around. And I was supposed to get heparin lessons tomorrow because they were going to put me on heparin just in case this helps keep the baby alive. :(

Oh, and just as a lovely aside to all of this. I called the Drs just now to see if the results are back as results are to be CCed to me. My Dr said they weren't in, but to call the lab as the order was a STAT order and results should be in by now. I called the lab and after much confusion they did tell me that the results were in. So now my heart is beating extra fast (I'm sure thats just GREAT for the spotting). So this tech has my results sitting right in front of him, and all he will tell me is the test is complete and to call my Dr at 4:30 since that is when they send the results through.

GAH!!! He HAD my results RIGHT in front of him!

No more spotting yet, but still that feeling that it is right around the corner.

Aww im so sorry to read your having so much trouble.. I dont have any advice but just try and keep faith hun. You no you can concieve and have healthy children as your son is proof, maybe you just have a few bad eggs.. Good luck hun. Hope to see you in 2nd tri before i leave xxxxx

Hi Hun,

Sorry to hear what you are going through i just wondered if you have ever been tested for natural killer cells. I have a friend of mine who has had many miscarriages ( she also has one child) And she was refered to a specialist to test for nk cells which she tested posistive for she is now 37 weeks pregnant im not not too sure what it is that they have done but if you search on google for natural killer cells or uterine killer cells there is quite a lot of information regarding it i think it was a doctor in chicago that has been doing research into it!! Hope you get some answers xx

Sherri, I'm so sorry. THe whole pregnancy journey must be a nightmare for you hun :hugs: There is little wonder you feel so disillusioned.

I was just about to post regarding the killer cells issue, and saw that someone already had. There was a lady on tv here recently who had had 17 miscarriages, and it wasn't until a specialist doc in London tested her for this specific condition that she had a succesful pregnancy. Basically, the body develops killer cells which attack the baby early on - this can be treated by a dose of steroids which suppress mum's immune system.

YOu may already know about this - but just a thought if not.

Let us know how you get on :hugs:
