8.5 month old not babbling yet...any one else? Bit concerned.

All the babies I've met babbled from an early age - but my LO is no where close to that yet. He makes various noises as he scurries around the room investigating stuff (he's been crawling from his sixth month) and he says 'muma' sometimes (not in context) but he's definitely not babbling. Is it a given that all babies babble from around this age? Anyone else's baby not babble yet?

Sophie babbled more at 4 months than she does now. She makes noises, screams and yells, but the only babble noise she makes is 'num num num'.
