8 DPO and red spotting - is something wrong?

Good morning, I am 8dpo today. I have had sore breasts for a day or two (but I did last month too to no avail) and this morning I have just used the bathroom and had some red blood when I wiped. This is not normal for me. My cycles are pretty regular, the shortest being 26 days and the longest being 28 but it is usually 27 days. I am only on CD21 today.

I know it *could* possibly be IB (although I thought IB was meant to be brown?) but being the hypocondriac that I am, I am now worried that it means something is wrong!! Anyone experienced similar? I know it wouldn't be totally out of the question for AF to be a week early, but it is very unusual for me! Xx

Oh TMI but DH and I had some rather energetic snuggles on Saturday night, could be something to do with that I guess?

Im not sure, but I do know that when you are pregnant, increased blood flow to the area can cause spotting... when that normally may not happen for you... such as with bding or paps. Generally, they tell you if you fill up more than 1 pad per hour to seek emergency medical attention.... but if it goes away it could be a good sign

Thank you I wore a panty liner today and hardly needed it after all. The red turned brown before 10am and has been there but just brown and when I've wiped all day. This is exactly what I had with Frankie, but a week or so earlier than I had it with him. I hope it is a good sign xxx

Hey mrs w - what did it turn out to be??!! I'm 8dpo and spotted today and was really bummed that it would be AF coming over early because I felt her cramps
Interested to know what it turned out like for you though!

Hi floatingbaby, I'm pretty sure it was IB because at the weekend I got my BFP!!! the brown discharge lasted about 3 or 4 days and was Gond completely by the afternoon of 12 DPO and really was nothing like AF. The first red spotting seemed quite heavy at the time, but really it wasn't. Then the brown seemed quite watery when I wiped and there were 1 or 2 clots in it which I thought had to be a bad sign.

What's yours like? FX this is a BFP for you too!! Xx

Thanks for that - and Congratulations to you! That's wonderful news. It gives me hope. I had the same initial feeling, I think. The spotting seemed heavy, or that it was going to get heavy - so I put a liner in and not a drop landed on it all day. It was quite pink/red, with small clot type things - I totally dried myself out checked it all day though. And there's nothing today - so I'm crossing my fingers it was IB!!
