8 month old has started waking 6ish used to be 7.45ish she must’ve heard me talking about her having to get up earlier when I return to work in few wks!

To be fair she does try to go back to sleep but can’t get back off so get her up then 6.45-7

I wonder if her daytime sleep is affecting the wake ups because we stuck at home with snow - usually one nap would be out & about so shorter.

She had two 1.5 hour naps last couple days in fact I’ve woken her from them because it going to be snack time tea time etc soon

Her bedtime is 7.00 - 7.15 usually

It's probably just a developmental phase that will pass, or her sleep patterns might be changing. I personally wouldn't restrict daytime sleep or wake baby up from naps. If she is in a growth spurt or something she needs extra sleep, and not getting enough sleep during the day can result in frequent night wakings and waking up early for the day (sleep begets sleep they say). I would just let her do what comes naturally and go from there. Once she is older then you could impose a wake up time on her, but not at her age. Around age 2 we started making my daughter stay in bed until 7 am (with the help of a Gro Clock), but before that we just went with whatever time she naturally woke up which was anytime between 6-8:30 am. My 8 month old naps for usually 2.5-3 hrs during the day and wakes anytime between 6-7:30 am. He has a crib mobile that he always turns on when he wakes in the morning so if he is up around 6 then I just let him watch that for a while before going in to get him so I can get a bit of extra sleep!

Yes it could be developmental also she had cold week before last & slept loads so could be adjusting back I guess.

I remember having a gro clock with my eldest too after a spurt of 5.00 wakings then 6.00 wakings!

Yes she naps average of 2.5 - 3 hrs sometimes bit more if I let her sleep sometimes bit less depending what we’re doing that day!

She hasn’t got mobile on cot at moment but there is one I can put on. What time does your lo go to bed?

He goes to bed between 6:30-7:30 pm depending on what time he woke from his last nap, but he's almost always ready for bed at 7 pm regardless. Twice a week when we go swimming he ends up falling asleep in the car from 5-5:30 pm on the way home but he is still ready for bed at 7pm. His internal clock for bedtime is very strong! He wakes at least twice at night for a feed, sometimes more frequently, and every now and then he'll have a night where he only wakes once.

Same bedtime as us then. My lo doesn’t wake for feed in night anymore but does wake sometimes possibly teeth or little under weather.

She woke 5.45 this morning but bless her has been trying her hardest to go back to sleep with dummy & lullaby she just can’t seem to drift off. Though all is quiet now & she’s maybe gone back off! Now it’s school run time lol!

We went swimming yesterday thought she’d have big nap afterwards but only had an hour but was in bed fast asleep by 7.10 last night.

Yeah if my LO wakes after 4:30/5 am he has a really hard time going back to sleep. He's obviously tired, yawning and rubbing his eyes, but he just can't get back to sleep even with boob and rocking. It often takes an hour or more to get him back off, at which point my toddler wakes for the day. But luckily for us we don't have a school run so he can sleep however long he wants in the morning. Today was a good day, he woke up at 4:30 am and was back asleep by 5:10 am so I actually got to go back to sleep for an hour and a half!

My kids are so different with regards to their sleep as babies. My DD would go to sleep so easily at night and would wake 5-8 times a night, but I'd just put her on the boob and she'd be back asleep within 5 min and I'd be back in bed. My DS needs a lot more help to fall asleep at night, and only wakes 1-2 times at night but it takes ages to get him back to sleep at which point I am wide awake and have a hard time getting back to sleep!
