Lucas had his jabs on Thu. The Thu night he seemed fine and we had a decent day and night and things were as normal. However as of yesterday afternoon he wont sleep, he is grumpy, he keeps screaming on the bottle and fretting on it, but is still 'rooting' for food. Managed to get him to settle last night after his 11pm feed but he woke at 3;30 for another feed as usual and from then would not go back to sleep at all. Didnt want any more feed, was dry, swaddled as normal. He still not asleep now. He seemed starving at 0930 but has only taken 2 oz and again screamed all the way through the bottle. Do you think it is delayed reaction to the jabs, or does he sound colicky?? Can they start with colic at 9 weeks? Never had problem before. :(

Laila was fine with her first ones, slept it off, then it seemed the same was happening with her 8 week ones.. she slept it off, but the next day she was really grizzly, snuffly, temperature and it lasted a couple of days.. nothing puts Laila off her food though :laugh2: xx

Isobelle had her jabs on a thurs also, she was fine thurs evening and friday but friday night she was difficult to settle and I couldnt satisfy her.
She is rarely grizzly but it got so bad over the weekend that I almost called the doctor. It passed by the tues but she wouldnt make eye contact or stay napping for more than 20 mins unless I was holding her. We spent all weekend on the sofa or in bed with her attached to the breast the whole time.

I think they all react very differently and I think a few days of feeling off is normal. I found the best solution was to get hubbie to bring me cups of tea and just stay snuggled up with baby - maybe hes just feeling a little under the weather & needs more snuggling? It was the sudden change in Belle's personality that shocked & concerned me the most.

I think I gave a small dose of calpol on the saturday evening which seemed to help her settle and tues morning she woke up full of smiles again and as if the weekend had never happened.

:hugs:

Omar was fine, he just slept more because of the calpol he took at night.

hiya my lo had her 8 week jabs (2 weeks late!) yesterday and has slept constantly since! i have had to wake her for feeds and she doesnt really want them but gotta feed her! :munch: also she had a temp last night so calpol helped with that! was gonna write a post about it then i saw yours! does anyone know how long this will last as my others never did it! xxx

annabelle had hers on thursday, and she was the same, she was so grumpy all day yesterday, and was rooting constantly, she wanted food every hour and a half. She seems more settled today though. X x

When Evie had her 2nd lot of jabs last month she was sleepier than usual, and a little grizzly. She had her 3rd round of jabs on Wednesday and has been really clingy, grizzly and generally not herself. It was nothing that a dose of Calpol couldnt handle tho, and that also helped with her gums (she's teething too) She seems a little better today tho, so I'm hoping she's thru the worst of it now! I was looking thru her red book and came across the little leaflets from her jabs and I was reading the possible side effects and being unsettled, mild fever etc are all part and parcel of them.

Just got the 4 month growth spurt to wait for now *sigh*

I am having the same issues. Calpol hasnt touched him or helped to settle him either. He was fine Thu and Fri day, but since yesterday night he hasnt settled properly at all. He is really grizzly too and only having very small amounts of milk and screaming on them. He is really clingy too. He slept last night only from 11pm-3am. From 3 am til now, I reckon he has only managed about 2 hours sleep in total! :( Just tried putting him down again now for a nap and he has only managed half an hour. He is usually great with naps and only normally wakes once in the night.

What I dont get though is he is smiling and cooing away to me as well so he cant feel that ill. I Have only managed to get 8oz of milk down him since 6 this morning. He normally has 4oz 6 times a day, but today is having 2-3 max and thats with a lot of perserverance! Think the jab has made him constipated or something too. :( Hope it hurries and passes.
