Hi ladies. I'm 8 weeks along in my 3rd pregnancy with no living children. Lost the first at 13 weeks and the second at 21. It was a cervix issue so I didn't have a problem with bleeding early on.

This time though, I've been spotting on and off since week 6. (I had my first scan at 6+2 and we saw a heartbeat) At first it was brown and then red. Always just when I wiped though. A week ago it was bright red and enough to stain my undies (but still not a ton). Last night, more bleeding and small clots (enough to need a pad but I didn't fill it).

I called the nurse at my high risk office and she said there was nothing to do but wait and see. I was hoping for a reassurance scan, but I know she's right...if I'm miscarrying then there's nothing they can do. :/ She said if I have cramping or any other issues to call back. So far no cramping, which I'm hoping is a good sign. I know spotting can be normal, but of course after losses I'm just so nervous! I've not had this much in past pregnancies.

Does this sound like normal spotting? Or the start of a miscarriage? My next appointment is April 11th, seems so far away!

I know every woman and pregnancy is different but I just like to hear other experiences, good or bad. Thanks.:flower:

tcinks, sorry to hear you're dealing with this. I know from experience that first trimester bleeding can be really stressful.

What reassures me is that you said no cramping at all. To me, it sounds like you might have a subchorionic hemorrhage. They don't know why people get these, but it's the most common reason women present with bleeding, and most women who have them go on to have totally healthy pregnancies. Emphasize to your OB that you're not cramping, see if they will do a scan to look for an SCH. If you have one, you can relax knowing that although it can still feel scary it's generally not a cause for loss. I really think they should do a scan for you so that you have a better idea what's going on!

Very sorry to hear what you are going thru. I was about that far along when I miscarried both times. Every single situation is different. I didn't cramp at all during the beginning of either or my miscarriages. But a lot of people do. The best advice I can give you is to not worry too much, no matter what the outcome is...it will be that way no matter what you do. I suggest visiting the ER, they will take you on right away to perform an exam and an ultrasound. No waiting games. Good luck to you!!
