Hello ladies :hi:

Just a small worry that I have at the moment, over the last couple of days if I have walked up stairs I am out of breath quicker than normal and also the last couple of nights when laid watching tv or sitting, my heart starts racing, like palpatations - as anyone else experienced this and is it normal at this time?

Thank you :hugs:

Hey Donna!
Im not sure about the palpitations but I know I have been getting out of breath very very quickly. Walking up the stairs sometimes leaves me gaspin for air lol.
This is totally normal as the baby is using your oxygen supply to breathe.
Not sure about palpitations tho sorry.

I get the same, it´s probably because our blood volume increases by 40 to 50% during pregnancy. Had it with DS too. Try laying on your left side when it happens. Try not to worry hun X

ive had that, i dont know what causes it but it does normally happen to me after ive done the half an hour krypton factor to work from the train station. lol

god help me in a few months time eh.... TAXI

I would say it is due to the extra blood that your carrying. Your heart working harder to supply your body with oxygen, and the baby. So it's bound to make you feel out of breath. As for the palpatations.. not sure. It could just be that you are more aware of it beating harder, but go see the doc if you're concerned :)

I had that too. Mostly the shortness of breath. Especially when I lay down at night. The palpatations I never really got but I did become aware of my heart beating. It doesn't seem to happen so much now. I only run out of breath when I'm doing a bit too much. I have to sit down quite often.

I have that too, and I was diagnosed with pregnancy induced anemia, it is because my heart is working so much harder to pump that little bit of blood that I do have. Not saying that this is what you have, but I would deffinetly bring it up at your next appointment. I have been taking extra iron and folic acid supplements, and it has since gone away. Hope this helps!!

I've been getting the heart palpatations from the start! x

The palpatations are a common side effect of pregnancy and it due to the increased work the heart has to do and blood volume. It is nothing to worry about! x
