Grrrrrrr just showed up! WTF! I am not a happy bunny! I thought BFing was supposed to prevent this?!?

When did the appear for you?

It also makes me a bit sad for some reason. Like it signals the end of my pregnancy and early motherhood in a way.

sorry you got it... but... I wish people would not tell others that bfing stops your period and ovulation... it most certainly does not, it "may", but you can still get pregnant and ovulate without your period even showing up.

I got mine around the same time as you have and I did not really bf... I tried and pumped for 2 weeks.

I've exclusively breastfed 3 kids already and have always had regular periods


yep....you can still get preggers too, look at me with a 14month old and a newborn. I will be using other methods of contraception this time

Same, I got mine at 9 weeks. My sister got hers at 10. Maybe it's genetic? You must be super-fertile! I was a little confused at how my womb had time to fill up again given that I only stopped bleeding at 7 weeks!

My witch turned up not quite 4 weeks after the birth. I Bf for two weeks and pumped for 4 weeks...the joys!

i stopped bleeding at about5weeks and got my period a week later which lasted a week. sinc then i've been in a week on and a week off cycle. how can youhave heavy periods after a week?! my mum was really shocked cos i'm BF and its not as if katie hardly feeds!

I thought mine came back when Sam was 6 weeks old - it was just like a normal period. Then nothing at all until he was 7 months old x

I'm expecting mine..BF'ing never stopped my periods with my eldest two, mores the pitty!. I'm certainly a little envious of those who remain witch free it has to be said. x

I'm bf too and had my first period about 2 1/2 months after Jay was born and it lasted about 10 days, I was gutted Since then I've had really weird sporadic bleeding - every few days I'll have a little bit of bleeding at night and then nothing during the day (very strange ) I've got to go to my GP to ask her about it but haven't got round to it yet...

turns out it wasn't proper AF, just cramping and a little spotting. Fingers crossed it stays away!
