Hi guys,

My little one has always been happy to go shopping with mommy while sitting in her stroller and looking around. For the past week or two though, after 15-20 mins, she starts to get hystrical:wacko: I have to either give her something to munch on (and I know she's not hungry) or pick her up. So right now I can only walk around if I wear her in the Ergo. Oh and I've tried giving her a toy she just tosses it out angrily:dohh:.

Anyone else dealing with this? I don't mind wearing her but when shopping/jogging it's just more convenient to have the stroller.

Is her stroller the front facing kind or the kind that the car seat fits into so she's looking back at you/up a bit? My LO is 8 mo and I've just transitioned her to a front facing stroller. I think she likes it more bc she can see more. Unless I'm trying to get her to go to sleep, then I put her in the car seat and stroll her that way.

I have a babyjogger City Mini GT and it's a front facing stroller. She used to love looking around but I don't know what the heck is going on now :(

I'm no expert, but could it be a separation phase?
My lo is 6mo and she has a front facing pram. She's happy in there most of the time, but when she's had enough she lets me know and she goes in the ring sling that I always have underneath. That probably doesn't help loads, just thought you'd like to know others have similar situations :)

I've come to the conclusion that nine-month-old babies are just a PitA. There are so many threads on here about it at the moment!

My guy is fighting the stroller a bit - exactly as you say, won't sit in it, wants to be carried. He's also in a full-on barnacle phase, literally clinging on to my legs. It's a huge Wonder Week right now (again: I don't know why they call them 'Wonder Weeks' when the damn things are five weeks long) so they're going through a massive leap in cognition.

Wait it out, mama, I'm sure it will pass. :hugs:

thanks guys...glad I'm not alone :) she loves the ergo and doesn't mind her car seat either. At home most of the time she's content to plan by herself as long as I'm not far away.

Really hoping this phase passes quickly :/

I agree with others who mention the separation anxiety stage. Might want to ditch the stroller until that phase passes.

Is she starting to become more mobile? My LO hasn't spent more than 10 minutes in her stroller since she realized she can get places on her own.

YES! She's very mobile...she crawls around fast and cruises between furniture while standing. But why is it that she doesn't mind car seat and Ergo but hating on the stroller?

Maybe because the Ergo feels more like being carried (which my LO still likes) whereas in the stroller she's kind of on her own anyway so would rather be moving on her own? I dunno!

Mine doesn't mind the car seat, either. But wants out of the stroller.

I am totally going through the same thing, he's not quite 9 months yet but over the last 2 weeks will only tolerate it for maybe 10mins then starts moaning and builds into full blown crying. He also used to love sitting in it, going shopping, watching his brothers play football and it was the one thing i knew would pacify him but not any more

I've tried the snacks but it only works for a short time then he throws whatever i've given him, toys are always thrown out.

We have a city mini jogger and i wondered about seperation anxiety, but he's fine in the car (still rear facing) and fine when i walk out the room.

I really hope he gets over it soon as i have to take him out in the pushchair and he's going to a childminders in 2 weeks...she will have to do the school runs etc :nope: xxx

Hayles - heheh we have the same stroller, I have the GT version. I do hope both our LO's outgrow this phase. I wanted to go jogging this afternoon but I'm not sure if she'll be up to being in her stroller.

gosh me too...i love making the most of my remaining mat leave by walking, shopping, going to the park etc, it's so frustrating and i don't want ot keep getting him out and carrying him, he's a big lad haha xx
