Amelie was born at home on the 7th of July at home .
Not sure how long i was in active labour for as midwives kept telling me i wasn't in labour but i was having very strong contractions . They started wednesday are 6 ish but were still irregular and finally decided to call midwife out and at 2.30 she said i wasn't dialating and cervix still high and not to expect the baby anytime soon . I had lost all my plug and this point and with this being my second i knew what labour felt like so i knew that she would be here before then .
The contractions continued and were getting stronger and stronger and i couldn't get any sleep . I coped with the pain with breathing and moving around ... the shower was amazing too .
12pm wednesday - i got into the birthing pool which was heavben and not long after the midwife came to examine me again as i was saying i was struggleing with pain she said i was 3cm and cervix was lying low... thank god something was finally happening
2.30- i begged her for another interanl and positive i was progresing faster then she thought and she looked and i was 6 cm
my contractions by this point were so intense but i was managing through them with breathing and on my ball .
3ish i wasn't copeing well and decided to try the pool again , this was great inbetween contraction but did nothing during and finally at 3.30 i caved in and started on the gas and air . By this point my contrations were around 1-2 min a part .
At 4 i was starting to panic as the pain and pressure was too much ... gas and air wasn't helping so i stopped using it and couldn't monve with the pain . Told midwife baby was coming and she didn't believe me and made me get out of the pool to be examined . By this point my waters hadn't broken and when she looked the head was about 2 inches in . She broke the waters and within 2 min my baby girl was born at 8lbs 3 oz . Was upset i didn't get to have her in the pool but other then that my labour was great and she is perfect
