I had my 28 week midwife appt. she measured my fundal height which was bang on however when she listened to the heartbeat it was a little irratic, she referred me up to triage for a trace and described it as ectopic on the phone to the hospital.

I couldnt help but cry and even my oh, who lets nothing phase him, looked really worried. she also couldnt get a good vein for taking my blood so had to call in the specialist :-(. managed to have my blood drawn, got my anti d jag and sent on my way to triage.

The midwife there was lovely and hooked me up to the monitor for 20 mins. she was happy with everything however it freaked me out when i saw her heart rate jump from 160 down to 129 and then back up to 150+. it even reached 189 at one point but never any lower than 129. apparently thats normal and a good sign baby is healthy and active?!

Just a bit of a scary day but so glad she seems ok. I even treated myself to a couple of new bras afterwards and a few little newborn baby clothes!

no real point to this thread just needed to write it all down.

glad all ended up ok xx

thanks me too. my midwife wants to see me again next week for reassurance.

That's what they want to see in a trace...a nice reactive heartrate. Sounds good!

aww hun, sorry you had to go through that stress but good news everything's ok xx :flower:

Ahh this made me sad! I am happy the baby is doing great. I would of had a panic/asthma attack. :hugs:

I just posted about my LO's hb as well. I noticed on my home doppler that the past 2 days it will jump into the upper 170s and then as low as 140. I haven't had it show up that high since I was in the first tri. Nice to know they said that this was normal! Glad to hear all is good! :)

They want the heart rates to change. They told me I have good boys at our last NST because they were all over the place. I told then if agree when Ashton stopped kicking my bladder. ;)

I had to stop looking at the monitor as occassionally the heart rate dissppeared! she was pretty active during those few seconds but it was quite freaky. so glad my oh was off today and able to come with me otherwise i would have been a total mess.
