a cautious hello...

Hi ladies,
Not really sure if I belong here yet as we've only been ttc for a year. I had a laparoscopy this morning and have discovered that one of my tubes is totally blocked and useless and my consultant has warned me we may have a long journey ahead of us to a bfp...
I'm finding it pretty hard browsing in the ttc sections and seeing ladies getting bfps after a month or two. I know a year is no time in comparison to some of you wonderful ladies but I really think its going to be a while of ttc for us and feel I might fit in around here.
Does anybody have any 1 tube success stories to give me some hope? Xx

Welcome. It's hard when you finally realize you belong in here more than the regular TTC section, but I agree, it's too hard to see the "I'm pregnant after only 2 cycles!!" announcements. I have seen some 1 tube sucess stories around here, I hope you are able to hunt some of those ladies down. It can happen!!

Hi, I'm a fellow one tuber, I did get pregnant but sadly mc at 6 weeks but goes to show that it's possible! Good luck and pm me if you have any questions. Xx

Welcome! I think I am a one tuber too...The last HSG said that my left tube is blocked and my right is "sluggish". Just saw my first fs on Friday and she thinks that my right is open and my left was just spasming during the HSG. Soooo, she ordered me to have another HSG along with Clomid and my first IUI in Feb. I'm hoping this will be a quick end to my journey, but am doubtful!

Would love somebody to talk to who is experiencing the same as me I don't fully understand the problem with mine but was told that there was no dye spill through my left tube which the surgeon was unable to fix
My FS will now see us in July which seems so far away to be without answers or help x

Ugh...so sorry you have to wait until July. The doctor had to try to shoot the dye through me twice. The first time, the dye didn't even go into either tube. The second time it went slowly through my right but just again didn't enter my left. She kept saying, "it just keeps coming right back out" to the nurse assisting her. They took tons of extra pictures and had me move in all different positions (which was oh so comfortable with a balloon in my uterus, the thing that they use to keep the cervix open (can't think of the name of it), and tubes that were shooting dye into me. Not to mention that I reeeeaaaallllly had to pee! Argh. I am definitely going to make sure my bladdar is empty before I have the HSG in Feb! Luckily for me, the dye didn't hurt, which is supposed to be the worst part.

However, the fs that I saw last week said that it is still very possible to get pregnant with only one working tube. She told me that even if I am ovulating on the side with the blocked tube, everything in there shifts around enough that it is still possible to send an egg down the good tube (or something like that). She said it just takes longer to get pregnant (which still really sucks) but at least there is hope! My point is, I hope you get your bfp before your appointment in July!

Sounds like you had a really rough time at your procedure...that makes me glad I was under anesthetic for mine!
I was also told that its very possible to get preg so Fxd for both of us for a natural conception soon.
I'm sorry you're going through this too but It's so nice to feel that I'm not alone
