A little something for the ladies afraid of c-sections...

Awww, Proxy, I'm sorry to hear that you had such a rough time...that sounds awful. Hope you get to feeling as good as new very soon!

Smartie, it was a much better recovery with my second c-section. The recovery after my daughter's birth was a bit rough, I'll admit. I really was hobbling around for quite a while. With my son, who is now 5 months old, I was up and moving around later in the afternoon of his birth, and he was born at 10:54 a.m....

I hope you get a VBAC, if that's what your heart desires! If not, here's to a straight-forward and complication-free c-section! :)

Thank you for sharing! I, too, had a wonderful c section. I did have a headache and nausea during the surgery, but they gave me a shot of pain medicine and all was forgotten. My husband brought our DD to me while they were stitching me up and held her by my cheek! It was amazing! He then stayed with her the entire time while I was in recovery (only 45 minutes). The hardest thing for me was I wanted to wiggle my toes so badly! The entire time in recovery all I could think about was willing my feet to move (didn't work!).

Oh, I forgot about the numb feet thing! That was annoying, at best. I was really grateful when sensation returned in my lower extremities, even if feeling pain was part of the deal.

My feet were the only part I could move freely, lol.
My legs on the other hand needed help.

Aw wow!! Im terrified of having a section (I currently have no reason to have one) but seeing you be so calm the whole time made me feel better. I full blown cried when you hear her cry, and the nurses seemed lovely!! I agree with you, id much prefer my baby to be fully checked before me holding her to be safe. It was lovely your hubby was right beside her!!

Your birth was incredible, not sad. :)

I'm currently trying for my second child and I will have a c section. It still scares me even after having one. My first c section went smooth, it was a month early so I was terrified the whole time, I had tears flowing the whole time, just because I was scared. I didn't have pain or feel pressure at all but that moment I heard him cry, I just lost it! After that I wasn't scared anymore. I didn't get to hold him for 13 hours and our bond is just fine.
Thank you for sharing

I'm so glad I came across this post. What a beautiful video. I had c section in 2013 with my daughter and was terrified because I didn't know what to expect. She was also checked out by the paed before she was brought to me in theatre. As soon as I was stitched up and in recovery I started breastfeeding. Those few minutes apart were necessary for both of us. This video brought back so many good memories and I can't wait until the end of the year when my next baby is due!

Congrats on your new pregnancy! I do have a video of my son's birth (also a planned c-section, but I won't share that, as my DH filmed it over the curtain, so it's graphic...I won't even watch it yet. LOL!)

I'm amazed they allowed to film over the curtain. If I end up with a CS this time, I want it all to be filmed. But ever since my other I've been very weak stomached towards "gore" like things so I doubt I'd be able to watch it. I can't even touch my scar without feeling sick.

The thought of missing out on your child being visually born is heart breaking though. It is for me anyway.

Wookie that was very brave of your husband! I wouldn't be able to watch that video, I actually found the photos of my caeser quite traumatising!

I watched this just out of curiosity.... haha :) I have had two natural births so i was just curious. Doesn't seem as terrifying as I would have thought.

Lovely :)

No, it WAS wonderful! I think emergency c-sections are probably pretty scary...I know that if I weren't expecting what was going to take place, I'd be terrified. But planned c-sections can be a wonderful experience.
