I HATE it when people say "I'm having a kid" or "I want a kid"
I'm watching a program on channel 4 and they are a quite wealthy couple and the woman has said "we had a kid".
Maybe I'm just being picky and snobby but to me when they are 3+ years and there are more than one of them it's ok to say "I've got to pick up the kids" but describing having a baby as "having a kid" just seems wrong.
"kids" sound like the 10 Yr old hoodies who hang out outside the corner shop waiting for someone to terroise.
Is it just me? What are your pet hates especially relating to the language/words used?
