To bleed
To bleed is loss.
To bleed is losing bits and pieces.
Watching it come,
Watching your life end, releases
The joy the hope,
The fear the doubt.
The blood sheds it all,
And I'm wrung out.
To bleed is to cleanse.
To bleed is to mourn and shudder.
Watching it dilute that way,
In the basin, like red watercolor.
Like it never was,
Like it never happened.
The blood has stopped,
But your blood leaves me saddened.
To bleed is loss.
To bleed is losing bits and pieces.
Watching it come,
Watching your life end, releases
The joy the hope,
The fear the doubt.
The blood sheds it all,
And I'm wrung out.
To bleed is to cleanse.
To bleed is to mourn and shudder.
Watching it dilute that way,
In the basin, like red watercolor.
Like it never was,
Like it never happened.
The blood has stopped,
But your blood leaves me saddened.
