Hey guys my son was born a month today by emergency c section and all has been well my wife's scar has been healing nicely all be it a bit tender and numb anyway tonight she asked my to look as it was more tender than normal and there was a clear smelly fluids from one of the stitches any ideas i would have thought it would be pretty much healed after a month ?? Thanks xx

If its clear I wouldn't have thought it was infected, maybe she needs make sure she's drying it properly? It's a horrible place to have a healing wound as its hard to get air to it! Mothercare sell knickers with a ventilated patch of material that sits over the scar, maybe that would help? Mine weeped alot for about 7 weeks then healed perfectly if you're worried and she's worried tho a quick trip to the docs won't hurt

If it's infected it would probably be painful. Boil some water and let it cool a little, add a few drops of tea tree oil and bathe her wound with cotton wool pads. Worked wonders for me.

It may be infected, after my c-section it was a good few weeks afterwards that mine got infected (probably exercising too much) mine wasnt sore or painful but really smelly. might be worth going to the doctors and getting anti-biotics x

If it's still like it go to gp. Sounds like what mine did a couple of days before it started weeping cos of infection. Nothing too much to worry about a short course of antibiotics cleared it up and it's now completely fine.
